Marijuana, The backbone of the drugs industry. In recent years the marijuana use has been on the rise both recreational use and for medical purposes. If marijuana was legalized it would greatly benefit the United States. Marijuana could be used to help a vast amount of illnesses and it would help get rid of the negative stigma Marijuana has. Legalizing marijuana would also be a huge loss for the illicit drugs industry.

Marijuana is one of biggest parts of the illicit drug industry. In 2013, marijuana was the most commonly used illicit drug with 80.6% of illicit user’s smoking marijuana and 64.7% of illicit users only using marijuana (drugwarfacts.org). Weather legal or illegal marijuana users will continue to smoke but, legalizing marijuana
