High School Curfew

A curfew is a set time when a specific group can not be outside after. Almost every state has them, but they should be removed. The setting of a 10pm weekday and 12am weekend curfew would cause more problems than it would fix. The idea of a curfew is that it would keep crimes of the street after this time. However, it would not do this and rater it would cause more problems. A curfew would not make a difference in crime, it would also get innocent people in trouble and it would become a haste for police and parents alike One of the ideas of a curfew is to keep crimes off the street at late times. However if someone is going out to intentionally commit a crime, they figure they are already breaking the law so what's one more. Plus
If there was a sporting event such as a high school football game and it ended after the curfew, the police couldn't pick up all of these people. A curfew would also not only be a hastle for the teenagers who are out after the curfew, it would also be difficult for parents and police in forcing the rule. Nobody wants to be woken up at 11 in the night by a police officer banging on you door just to tell you that your son or daughter was found outside after a certain time. It seems like a very unnecessary thing to wake someone up for. It would also be a problem for the police who instead of finding real crime, are wasting their time picking up kids off the street for walking on the sidewalk. It would be a disaster if someone was killed because police response was not quick enough, but it would be worse if the police were preoccupied with a petty crime such as a curfew violation. In conclusion setting a curfew is a very bad idea. It would be irrelevant because it is such a small offense that someone committing a serous crime would not think anything of it. It also would get innocent people in trouble who were only walking home from someone's house or coming home from a school sponsored event. Finally it would be a hastle for everyone involved in it, the
