Hero Of Music: Poem Analysis
In a dark room lies a dimly lit light, as bright as a Minecraft furnace during a pit black night, considering your Gammas turned down. The ball of light, as if pulled by a gravitational force, flies towards what seems like a black hole.

After what seems like centuries a deep and gruffy voice speaks out,

"Do well...Hero of Music, Hahahah".

The works we studied within Creative Writing were all helpful in creating my own works to submit to the class. Throughout all of the reading, many of the works inspired me in different ways, whether it was short story plot ideas or word usage in the poems. While crafting my work for the final portfolio, I reviewed many of the poems from our poetry packet in an effort to find inspiration and to create new interesting images. I took the most inspiration for my formal poem, which I found most difficult to write. One of the poems that was most useful to me was Jilly Dybka’s “Memphis, 1976.” Dybka’s poem follows the sestina form; I also wrote my last poem in this form, so it helped to follow the form by looking at her poem as an example. Dybka’s…

As a little girl I wanted to be just like Hannah Montana. As I got older, I wanted to be like Rachel Berry, a small town girl living out a big town dream. I wanted to be looked up to because of my musical talent. Walking into Mrs. Kaiser's 7th hour, 8th grade band, I didn't know that music would have such an impact in my life. Music has become the spark of my intellectual curiosity. There are millions of combinations of key signatures, chords, melodies and rhythm in the world of music just waiting to become attached to a sheet of staff lines and spaces. Ever since my first experience with music in the fourth grade, my mind began to explore all these combinations of problems. Music helped me with math, english and gave me a place to escape when I was put into undesirable situations. In Middle…

In the poem “To This Day” by Shane Koyczan he shows that people that get bullied constantly aren’t able to blow stuff off as easy as others. In the poem he shows that some people need motivation and help. He shows this by stating in the poem,”We are not abandoned cars stalled out… and if in some way we are don’t worry we only got out to walk and get gas”. Gas could symbolize getting help from someone they know and trust, or could be trying to get help with therapy or things of that nature. Another meaning could be that they need to get motivation to keep going from something. The dark background colors could mean that they need better things to happen to get motivation from.…

The first thing I remembered was the intense headache, a black void sucking me into the depths of darkness. The only sound preventing me from falling into the abyss was the muttering behind the wall in front of me. I could just make out two men behind an opaque wall, conversing with what appeared to be a clip board in the man on the left’s hand. Beyond the walls, I heard the creaking of rusty door hinges as the inner door swung open. I heard the sound of footsteps as the two men approached the inner wall, treading upon metal. I heard the buzz of a card, and the two men entered. One Guard and a man in a lab coat.…
