Hero and Courage
Hero
Brave, selfless, and courage these are qualities that may be found in a hero. According to stories read in class such as; “The Griffin and the Minor Cannon” by Stockton, and “Where I found my hero” by Oliver Stone. These stories demonstrate what hero’s qualities are. Also in the songs “Hero” by Mariah Carey and “Holding out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler, they have examples of what heroes are. There are 3 qualities for being a hero, and those are bravery, courage, and selflessness.
Bravery is a quality. Firstly, Secondly, “'Well,' said the Griffin, as soon as the young man came near, 'I am glad to see that there is someone who has the courage to come to me'” (Stockton 2). This proves bravery because the Minor Cannon was brave enough to go see the Griffin. Lastly “And then a hero comes along, with the strength to carry on” (“Hero”). This demonstrates bravery because you have to be brave to have the strength to carry on any challenge. Courage is also a heroic trait.
Courage is a heroic trait. Firstly, Furthermore “The Minor Canon had been afraid to go away and leave him, and had hoped all through the day that he would soon be satisfied with his inspection and fly away home” (Stockton3). This proves courage because he had the courage to stay with the griffin all day to protect the village. Lastly “And you cast your fears aside,” (“Hero”). This demonstrates courage because it takes courage to cast your fears aside when you’re terrified.
Selfless is an act of heroism. Moreover “The Griffin thought now that he ought to visit the sick and the poor” (Stockton8). This proves selflessness because he chooses to spend his time to go see the sick and the poor.
In conclusion the qualities of a hero are bravery, courage, and selflessness. Bravery is an essential trait because every hero needs bravery to stand up for what they believe in. Courage is a needed trait because all heroes need to be able to have the courage to save someone. Sacrifice is a valued trait because a hero must be prepared to sacrifice themselves for someone else. Overall a hero is someone that has all three characteristics Bravery, Courage, and Sacrifice if you have these three you are a hero you see anyone can be a hero you can be the hero.

Heroes are brave. They put their life on the line to save others. An example of this happened on December 3 when state trooper Michael J. Miles saved an unnamed 3 year old boy from his abductor, Michael Ramirez, who had taken him from his home. After Ramirez escaped the police's tail on him, he ran into the North Carolina forest where “Miles used his knowledge of the area to… approach him on foot” (Hero Trooper Saves 3 Year Old After Amber Alert 1). That is bravery. He put his fears aside so he could save a little boy because he knew that by the time people would come to help it could be too late.
