Heart Of A Lion Formal Response
Formal Response Essay Have you ever found yourself feeling like you just want to just give up on something, whether it's a sport, test, work, relationship, etc? I know that I have and sometimes it does not hurt to get a little push forward. Kid Cudi creates the perfect metaphor for the attitude everyone should have in his song "Heart of a Lion". At the end of the chorus, Cudi says "At the end of the day I'm walkin with the heart of a lion" (Cudi). This verse holds a deeper meaning and is obviously metaphorical, but through this metaphor volumes about having the right and determined attitude are spoken. Attitude plays a huge factor in everything you aspire to do and is one of the most key components to success.

When we think we can't push anymore, we can push a little harder. When we think we're done, we're not. Our society has grown up under the impression that we aren't good enough, we're not strong enough, or we're not fast enough. So ever since I've heard that, I have pushed harder than I thought was possible, pushed past the limit. However at the same time it also personally impacts me because in the concentration camps they had to persevere, a lot. And I can relate a lot to perseverance because I have grown up swimming and the hard practices take a lot of perseverance. “Night” by Elie Wiesel teaches us all to persevere through the hard times and push ourselves past the limit. This is why I chose this…

“Never give up, and be confident in what you do. There may be tough times, but the difficulties which gave you face will make you more determined to achieve your objectives and to win against all odds.” This was what women’s Brazilian soccer star Marta once advised. Never giving up may sound like a goal that is impossible to reach in reality. Although that may be true, in literature there are characters who exhibit it ideally. For instance, Joan Bauer’s short story “A Letter from the Fringe” introduces a figure who showcases these traits. On a somber day, Dana, the protagonist, a high school student at Bronley High was tormented by bullies alongside her friend Sally for being overweight. Although, it seemed as if her heart had been torn out and thrown to the side, she was capable of forcing the two tyrants to flee. Afterwards, she insisted that they had no right to…

Michael Ondaatje’s 1987 postmodern novel ‘In The Skin Of a Lion’ has shaped and given new meanings when viewed in depth from different perspectives. Through Ondaatje’s continuous ideas on identity and history, through his language and form, this novel continues to be studied in various contexts. The use of poetic language and cellular structure has allowed him to create a piece of literature, ‘never again will a single story be told the same as this one’, which is unique and everlasting.…

Overcoming obstacles and limitations set in front of me is owed to the thick skin I was forced to establish. The perseverance and determination I have obtained is applied to so many other aspects of my life. Giving up has never been an option for me. Lessons I have learned have been carried with me throughout my academic success and individual growth. I have learned to not give in to conformity. Although I am faced with ridicule far too often, I would not want it any other way. I’ve learned that it is, in fact, great to be a Michigan…

This essay is about how inspiration leads to overcoming obstacles. It discusses how obstacles affect our daily life, and how one should go about overcoming them without pulling their hair out. People cannot control the obstacles that come about, but as people can learn how to control and react to them. People should be able to view obstacles through the eyes of possibility, instead of the eyes of defeat. Despite the thought of people wanting to think about being confronted with obstacles focusing on it may cause loss in the right direction. So people end up down the wrong path and that brings tougher obstacles. In the first place people have to change their own direction a little to accommodate an obstacle in their own way. Being flexible allows people to be open to finding a new direction. Sometimes people lose their vision when they are confronted with challenges, and that is where inspiration from the past can be of great value to overcoming some of these obstacles. When people focus on the now, they are able to attempt to negotiate obstacles; sometimes people can even avoid them. Don’t quit! I am reminded of a quote from Vince Lombardi “winners never quit and quitters never win” this is such a true statement. Whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when someone really wants something, it’s because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. And when someone wants something the whole universe conspires in helping them to achieve it. Inspiration is such an important factor in maintaining ones resolve. By reading stories, people know they are not alone and that within the human spirit lays the capacity to solve these problems. Try to surround ourselves with as much inspiration in the form of books, music, and people as possible. By the same token people can remove themselves from the influences that are discouraging them from reaching their goal. People should try to increase their faith in…

    Essay On Brick Walls

This analysis is a very explanatory, inspiring, and a different perspective of how to look at ones life as of your own. Referring to brick walls as Randy establishes in her quote of "The Last Lecture", was extremely accurate as to life lessons and obstacles you face in order to be successful. With that being said, with experience comes lessons learned, and with lessons learned comes wisdom. As to my perspective, I see the brick walls as our hardships, and how deep you are willing to go in order to achieve anything in your life. There are numerous things that tear people down, as of I have experienced those obstacles; however, hope and courage are the only reasons that keep me zen. The hope and courage can result in motivational and fulfilling…
