Hamlet State Of Mind Analysis

Throughout the play Hamlet has seemed to slip in and out of madness, but it was all a plan towards his goal. He was planning to avenge his father’s death. He had been scheming from the beginning of the play. Hamlet is very careful of the people he lets know of this true state of mind. Also, he is always planning ahead of everybody else. Hamlet had a plan from the beginning of the play. throughout the play hamlet was always sain. He had been planning to kill Claudius because of his new knowledge of how his father died. hamlet had been called by Horatio to talk to a ghost of his father. Hamlet talked to him and found out that Claudius had killed his father with poison. It was then when he decided to act like he was insane to get revenge. “To put an antic disposition” pg. 82 line 191. The only time Hamlet did not have a plan was at the beginning. He had no reason for a plan. Once he found out about how his father died was when he started scheming a plan. When his father died and when his uncle married his mother was the two main events for Hamlet to start thinking about the future of killing Claudius. At the beginning of the play Hamlet tells his true sanity to have a person who can tell his story. Also He only lets people in when he is ready. When claudius sends Hamlet to England, Hamlet agrees to go. The whole time Hamlet knew what was going on and knew that he would be safe if he went or else he would not have went.
