Explaining things that people don't understand has always been a strong point in my time within the community. In sports, specifically volleyball, I am more experienced than most of the people in my grade. When someone is having trouble with a skill like hitting or passing I gladly help them and explain things in a way that is easy to understand. Another quality that I have, is the ability to effectively communicate with others. Not only am I able to communicate with people that I am helping, but also with leaders within this club. I can communicate clearly and professionally through; email, text, verbally, and on the phone. When I have a planned absence from a sport’s practice, I notify my coach at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled start time. My work ethic has always been a strong point within my years of schooling. I have never been tardy to a class or skipped class to do things that I think are more important. Working in groups or teams has always been something I am good at. Working with teams efficiently and effectively is very important, this is especially shown on sports teams, were at practice if one person is slacking off it's harder for

Both being team sports I am surrounded by people whether I'm at practice or at a game/tournament. I am an experienced volleyball player and very commonly get asked questions about the skills required to play the sport such as hitting, passing, or setting, all of which I can answer. Answering those questions to the best of my ability is a goal of mind so that the other athlete can get a better understanding of what to do. In cross country, positivity is a big part of the sport since you're with such a big team. Keeping positivity when talking to the incoming freshmen is a huge part of this club since you want them to have the best time that they can have while they are at

Having the ability to teach others and influence them is one of my biggest character traits. Numerous times I have stayed after tutoring or helped a struggling student in my honors science classes. In fact, Project Lead the Way has influenced me to understand concepts rather than simply memorizing their meaning. The ability to teach others will influence me to fully comprehend concepts outside of the classroom and discuss them with classmates in order to further everyone’s understanding.…

I volunteered to help at the Byrne academy. I help organize and gather up the soccer equipment. I also help at the academy by performing various skills for the kids that attended. At the same time, I also help out at Lakeview men’s soccer tryout. My position was to keep track of the player’s stats. A lot of times, I would get instructions from the head coach to set up drills for the players, and I would set up the drills. I’m excellent with following instructions. Most importantly, I have a huge school spirit. Back in my high school days, I would always wear the school colors, I’ve watch all the Lakeview men’s soccer games that are played at home. I also attended to most sport event, such as basketball game, football game, and wrestling meet. With the Cross-Country team, I feel like an insider. An experience that best exemplifies this feeling is from a practice during my freshman year. I was a slow runner, running in a pair of poor quality shoes and the fastest kid on the team came up to me and told me that I needed new shoes and that he would help me purchase them. As a scared freshman on my first runs, I needed something of this nature, a confidence booster. It showed me that the community surrounding me was not only caring, but also welcoming. However, as the season went on, I realized that random acts of kindness and friendship were not out of the ordinary, but the norm. I found myself running with people who could have run with a faster group, yet ran with me. Cross-country…

The abilities an individual possesses are an accumulation of their previous life experiences and the various competences which have been practiced for many years. Often times, these skills are overlooked and taken for granted as we never actually think about them in terms of their effect on our potential career choices. After thinking about my personal skills, I compiled a list which included; communication, cooperation, patience, listening, helping others and perseverance; all skills which I have possessed for majority of my lifetime and have used to overcome many challenges. One example in particular which required me to draw on many of these skills, was fairly recently; I am a dance instructor for children ages four to seven and there was a young boy who joined the class later than the rest of the students. I noticed that he was struggling…

After getting feedback from twelve people about my positive attributes, I found patterns in how friends, family, and classmates thought I brought value. The positive attribute that was brought up the most out of the twelve people was my attentiveness to others. I was described as being an individual who cares about others and is concerned about others wellbeing. The next attribute that I picked out of the respondents was my hard work and passion. Respondents described me as a person who contributes a sense of passion and hard work surrounding that passion. The third positive attribute that was brought up was my athletic ability. I was described as a person with a natural ability to be skilled at most sports. I was told that I have been this way since I was a little kid. The last attribute that I chose from the feedback was trust. It was mentioned in almost all my feedback that I am a person who can be trusted, and is trusted quickly by new people. The feedback that I got from friends, family and classmates will help me develop my positive attributes even further.…

Although I don’t play three sports and do all the clubs my high school has to offer, one thing that I don’t have that sets me apart from other candidates is dedication. I would consider myself very dedicated. As a student, I am a very hard worker and put effort into all my assignments. I feel like it is an important characteristic to have when entering you next step in life. In my case that next step in life is college. As for dedication, I do my best whenever it comes to attendance and I hate to ever miss a day. I’ve heard stories where some students only come to class for three days, which is crazy. I get disappointed whenever I ever fail on anything, whether it be a school assignment or a small favor that my sister asked for.…
