Practical Regulations

Laws/hazards - A professional is responsible for assessing anything that could be a potential hazard or risk, in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment for staff and clients. We are held accountable for health and safety so this is of the utmost importance
Salon is well ventilated
Lighting category – 10 as per the regulations
Heating – between 16-20 degrees
Disables access – is available within the salon
Parking – is available in the side road that the premises is on, with restrictions in place at the top of the road
There will be a first aider present during the event (myself)
Fire evacuations – located at the back and front of the premises
Seating – there is maximum seating of 10 on the shop floor, although there is room for areas of standing that would not obstruct walk ways/exits
Low level music as at front of house and in treatments rooms to create a calming environment – The salon has a PRS License as per the requirements

Promotions

To ensure the growth of any beauty therapy business it is essential to promote your services, expand your business by adopting a promotional strategy throughout the year for new products and services being launched, and for the promotion of the business when trade is slow.
On Saturday 5th July, Havering Beauty Academy will be holding an open day to promote and encourage new trade through providing discounted massage treatments – I will be organising this in accordance to this plan

Target groups and audience

For this event we will be targeting women between the ages of 25-50, who have a disposable income and the time to enjoy such treatments.

In the local area there are:

Schools local council events, e.g. fun days school events
fitness
