Most people believe an important and enforced law on background could really help, as it has worked in Australia. However, there are other interest groups that support gun control including the NAACP. The latter urges the population to show support for state and federal efforts to have gun control and instant background checks. NAACP holds many movements in support of gun control. In addition, the organization promises to sue gun manufacturers, distributors, and importers in order to obtain restrictions on the marketing and sale of firearms in many states. There are 20 states that have successfully passed strict gun control laws. They also require state permits and background check before private purchase and/or at transfer point. Those states include California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. Maybe, those states have set the tone for other states and the federal government. The latter needs to pass and implement a universal background check law because unlicensed and private gun sellers will continue to deliver firearms to unqualified buyers such as
