Great Depression Relief
The first R is relief. The relief efforts in the Great Depression took immediate action to halt the economy’s deterioration. There was a bank holiday declared to calm down the panic and after the bank holiday Roosevelt passed the Emergency Banking Act that closed the insolvent banks and only reopened the solvent ones. Roosevelt soon after passed the Federal Emergency Relief Act that gave immediate help to those that needed it in the form of cash payments. I wish I could get some free money. The second R is recovery which made temporary programs to restart the flow of consumer demand. One of the many acts and recovery efforts was the Agriculture Adjustment Act (A.K.A. the AAA) which taxed food processors and gave the money directly to farmers

    Some of these agencies are the Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA), the Glass Steagall Banking Reform Act, Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), and National Industrial Recovery Administration (NIRA). The AAA provided relief to farmer by paying them to reduce production; this helped reduce crop surpluses and increase the price of crops. The Glass Steagall Banking Reform Act created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) which backed all bank deposits up to $2,500 so clients did not have to worry about bank failure wiping them out and thus ensured bank existence. The CCC put young men to work on public lands and national parks to reduce unemployment.
