Situations always arise where their inner evil is ready to rear its ugly head, but they are able to restrain that urge and maintain their civility. Every day sinful monsters pass by looking like ordinary folks because of the mask of civility they wear. “’ I spent 18 years working with people who everyone would call evil—child molesters, murderers—and with a few exceptions, I was always struck by their ordinariness,’” (Flynn of York College). A perfect example of a monster that looked like a perfectly ordinary person but was Ted Bundy. Often described him as polite, friendly and extremely good looking man, but on the inside lurked a sociopath, a serial killer who raped and murdered 36 plus young women. Fortunately, most people are able to maintain their civility in adverse situations.
