Winter is a amazing season because the snow and freezing win. Most people enjoy the winter season. But will they be forever? The news about global warming has dire predictions about the future. Global warming is not a scary myth that scientists have made up, but a very real natural condition that is affecting the world more and more each day. What is global warming? Global warming is the observed and projected increases in the average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. In general, we know that the origin of global warming is the emission of carbon dioxide. It was verified that the relationship between carbon dioxide and temperature; when there is more carbon dioxide the temperature gets warmer. Every day, more electric gadgets flood the market, and without widespread alternative energy sources, we are highly dependent on burning coal for our personal and commercial electrical supply. Carbon dioxide emissions from burning gasoline for transportation With our population growing at an alarming rate, the demand for more cars and consumer goods means that we are increasing the use of fossil fuels for transportation and manufacturing. Our consumption is outpacing our discoveries of ways to mitigate the effects. The major reason of global warming is due to human’s activities, producing the green house gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and water vapor, which trap the energy from the sun. Recently, the sharp increasing of population is one of the main reason. Meanwhile, this is biggest threaten to the balance of the

In recent years, climate change has become a catastrophic issue that globally depletes resources at an unsustainable rate for survival. Rising temperatures associated with climate change are due to the greenhouse effect, in which humans play a huge role. The greenhouse effect is the trapping and buildup of heat in the Earth’s atmosphere due to carbon based human activities, such as transportation, electricity, and consumer habits(EPA, 2013). Global climate change includes substantial change to local and global temperatures, wind patterns, rainfall patterns, which last over extended periods of time (EPA, 2013). Current, unsustainable rates of human population growth contribute to the extra greenhouse gasses are added into the atmosphere.…

Nowadays many ecological and social changes are happening, which affect our planet Earth in a negative way. These changes more or less, are caused by the rise of global temperatures. All of this problems, disorders and pollutions are the products from one of the biggest challenges that we people are facing today that is Global Warming. This serious problem causes the rise of the average temperatures in the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans, and it is projected that it will continue unless we people do something about it. Global Warming is happening now, that can be seen through many examples, Oceans are acidifying, Precipitation patterns are changing, Sea ice is melting and other problems that disorder the Earth.…

The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Growing up I heard this phrase in folktales as a “wolf cry”-- a cry that is so ridiculous that nobody would believe it. Now that global warming is a major environmental issue, the saying doesn’t sound so out of place. Most people might say: what is global warming? That’s the question that was running through my mind when I first heard we were watching a documentary on it in my English 130 class. The film is Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth and it is about the causes of global warming and what it is doing to our planet. Being an environmentally involved citizen and growing up with conservative Republicans as parents, I was torn between not really liking Gore and this extreme reality that I felt was an impending doom on Mother Earth. The day before my writing class my dad called me and I brought up the fact that I was watching Gore’s film; his reaction was, “I’m paying for you to do that?” I tried to tell him it wasn’t about Gore and when I brought up global warming he claimed it was a scheme to get money and that our wor...…

There are always two sides to every story and every different point of view has a right to be heard. When it comes to the discussion of global warming there are two very distinct points of view. The world seems to be split between global warming being caused by humans and it being a natural occurrence. This paper will discuss the two views in depth, followed by my opinion about the global warming phenomena.…

Climate change, often referred to as global warming, is a rising issue that has been further developed over recent years. To clarify, the term ‘climate change’ refers to any significant change in the measures of climate lasting for an extended period of time. Such changes include but are not limited to major changes in temperature, precipitation, or wind patterns occurring over several decades or longer. Therefore, the specific term ‘global warming’ is only one aspect of climate change and used when referring to recent and ongoing rise in global average temperature near Earth's surface. This steady rise in temperature is causing significant changes in weather and climate which is alarming because even small changes can create problems in our delicately balanced environment which will lead to challenges in our society. As a human race, we depend on the environment for fresh food, fresh water, and fresh air, so when there are complications with the balance of the environment, there are potential complications to our survival.…

Lately, the world has been characterized by so many debates on whether global warming is real or not, debate that does not exclude even the scientists. There are several facts that scientifically prove that global warming is real. These include several human activities that lead to emission of certain gases in the air, for example fuel burning. Burning of fuels such as coal and wood emit gases such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide (Phil, par 2-4). These are what are called green house gases. Research shows that the amount of these gases emitted in the air is increasing in the atmosphere. These gases absorb sun’s radiation and this means that the amount or radiation in the atmosphere is increasing, resulting to the increase of atmospheric temperatures. This increase of temperatures has been associated with natural disasters such as flooding, crops failing and ice ages. Since people now know that global warming is real, they may not know all its impacts but they are sure that these impacts are going to be detrimental to the existence of human race and thus people cannot assume that it is not happening (Phil, par 2-4).…

As everyone knows that global warming is defined as the increase of the average temperature on Earth. The temperature on Earth will rise significantly when heat from the sun is trapped in Earth’s atmosphere. It is also known as the main reason that causes damages to the ozone layer. Besides that, natural disasters, such as hurricanes; droughts; and floods, are becoming more frequent. The temperature at the Earth 's Poles is also rising rapidly. The major factors leading to global warming are greenhouse effects and deforestations. In the past years, the impacts of global warming were not noticed or taken seriously by the public because the situation was not widespread and serious. In the recent years,…

Global warming is a severe problem facing the world today. Based on the 2007 Fourth Assessment Report (AR4 2007) by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), as Earth’s climate began to change due to the rise of global temperature, there will be an increased tendency for drought, melting of ice sheets in Greenland or Antarctica and this will pose a major threat to human existence. The greenhouse effect is much to be blamed for global warming as carbon dioxide accumulated at the atmosphere will prevent most of the outgoing infrared radiation at the atmosphere from escaping into outer space. The main source of carbon dioxide emission is the burning of fossil fuels to generate energy in order to meet our daily requirements. Although the dependable energy supply by fossil fuel is essential in our every day life, because of its adverse effect is why the government should implement policies to encourage the use of renewable energy resources to conserve the environment.…

Since the Industrial Revolution our world has been affected by Global Warming. Increasing humans, vehicles, and electricity have put our earth in a position where we do not know the outcome of our mistakes. Many scientists agree this situation has escalated within the past decades. Studies show that fossil fuels have increased in the atmosphere. The Earth 's natural cycle has been interrupted which affects the climate, land, ocean, and every living thing. Animals of the land and ocean are migrating towards cooler temperatures. Humans did not do this intentionally, but because of the outcome of the man-made machines, it is time to redirect our priorities. This situation will not get any better if people continue to think that it is a part of nature; which the reality is it is a human caused problem.…
