Girl Child
Why? When a girl child is born,
Her family and parents mourn.
Why? When a girl comes to earth,
She is killed even before birth.
Why? A girl is always ignored,
Why not she is always adored?
Why? The government doesn’t deal it with an iron hand
And see to it that in latter and spirit it is banned
Why? People are passive towards girls,
I feel they are precious as pearls.
Girl is an emerging soul of faith and light
In her life she must have day and never night
A girl’s life becomes difficult as she grows
And her tension slowly and gradually flows
She grows into a woman and acquires skills
But is engrossed with many social ills
But still, a woman smiles when feels like screaming
And sings when she feels like crying
A woman cries when she is glad
And laughs when she is sad
She can handle a lot of trouble
And carry heavy burdens even double
We forget the difficult woman life
Her love, her care, her sacrifice
A woman can shower love and affection
But in anger, she becomes Goddess Durga for destruction
You cannot estimate her sharpness
She gives light and removes darkness
A girl is very important in one’s life
Never hurt her with either words or knifeIn my head I hear a humming,
Summer, summer summer's coming,
It comes with lots of fun But also the scorching sun
Summer brings long vacations Facilitates us to go to hill stations
People like to have cold things Like ice creams, juices and cold drinks
Summer brings lots of fruits like mango and melon And thirst forces us to keep handy a lemon
The scorching heat makes people to perspire And forces them to stay in against their desire
The evenings of summer are relatively cool Everyone wants to have a dip in the pool

But after the initial celebrations, nothing really happens, not even summer itself. Week after week an endless misting drizzle wafts in from the sea. Afghan Girl is a 1984 photographic portrait by journalist Steve McCurry which appeared on the June 1985 cover of National Geographic. The image is of a young woman with green eyes in a red headscarf looking intensely at the camera. It has been likened to Leonardo da Vinci's painting of the Mona Lisa and has been called "the First World's Third World Mona Lisa". The image became "emblematic" of "refugee girl/woman located in some distant camp" deserving of the compassion of the Western viewer. In early 2002 the subject of the photo was identified as Sharbat Gula an Afghan woman who was living in the Nasir Bagh refugee camp in Pakistan during the time of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan when she was photographed.…

Summer to me is the season of fun; the season where kids get to be outside play all day long because the day is illuminated by the sun almost until eight at night. I got to play all day and it was even better when my cousins came over, I especially enjoyed this season when I was little. I have four other cousins that are about my age so you can imagine how chaotic it was with six kids from ages six to ten years old being together. As all kids we looked for adventure with our imagination, we invented games, and our parents taught us games they played when they were younger. One game that especially stood out was a game called “hoyitos” or “little holes”.…
