Gender Pay Gap Between Effective Earnings And Women
If we look at the difference between men's hourly earnings and women's hourly earnings based on the average difference in gross hourly earnings of male and female employees, viz. gender pay gap, on average in the EU women earn 16% less per hour than men even if this disproportion is narrowed in the last decade (Eurostat, 2011). Gender pay gap means that women earn less over their lifetime and the result are lower pensions and risk of poverty in old age.
