Gay Marriage
Since 1924 Gay Marriage has been a huge dilemma throughout the United States. Whether it should be legal or illegal law to have the same sex gender to get married. Approximately around the year 2000 America along with other countries started to accept gay marriages. Of course being a citizen in America there were people who didn’t agree with this decision. Still to this day in the year of 2013 homosexual are still fighting to get their voice heard in order to married the person of the same sex as them. People that oppose gay marriage feel as if homosexual get married to one another they are taking the real passion of what marriage is about. In society they are brain wash that only man and women should only have that right to express their love to each other. They believe that it is the “right” thing to do, because they are not use to the unfamiliar. Living in today world what is right now days? Every individual should have the right to married whoever they want; Gay marriage should be legalized in all states and countries. I believe that there is nothing wrong with homosexual marriages. People should married who they love whether it is a heterosexual or homosexual relationship. Homosexual have several reason why they believe that marriage should be legal for them which I agree with them. They feel as if they want to show off their marriage legally, instead of just being in a relationship for numerous of years and not have a ring on their finger along with a legit marriage license. Those having a marriage license will give them peace in their marriage for they can know that their relationship is real like heterosexual couples. There is no reason why two people cannot get married because of their sexuality. If a heterosexual couple can get married an express their love for each other so simple. Why can’t homosexuals do the same? Isn’t that a form of segregation? “‘Normal things’ is not same-sex marriage” (Alex McKinnon) I disagree with this quote mainly because no marriage is “normal” marriage is not about what is normal and what is not normal. It is about two hearts that come together and connect naturally to create love. Marriage is a human invention. Us people invented this beautiful creation for people who are deeply in love have the chance to get married and live their lives with each other however long as they please. Homosexual marriage will be just as “normal’ as heterosexual marriage.
Is it not true that man and women are supposed to be treated equally? This being said everyone should have the same exact rights. No matter what gender, race, sexual orientation and etc. Therefore gay marriage should be legalize because it is an issue of equal rights. By society not allowing two people who love each other to marry is just opposing their freedom that they have. Everyone is supposed to have the same rights, but how cans that happened if society will not let two normal human beings get married because they love the same gender?
Although people still are slowly but surely accepting gay marriage there are still a few states and countries that still oppose of it. I just say legalize gay marriage. Everyone deserves to be happy with someone they truly care for. Society should not be able to take someone happiness away. Seems like in this world we live in happiness is something that is hard to seek. When you have the ability to say “I am happy” that shouldn’t be taken. Some people go through struggles to find their happiness and I know it will be devastating for someone to take that away from them. According to lovescience.com 20 percent of youth commit suicide for being LGB because they were not accepted. We are all humans and homosexuals are no different from us. They work the same and earn the same. Society does not have the right to tell someone who they can love or who they are happy with because it is “wrong” in their eyes. Well in my eyes it is wrong to not let people be happy.

My personal views on this issue changed a few years ago when watching the TV broadcast and something came up about the right for gays to marry. Previously I was personally indifferent but felt that marriage was as much a religious institution as a civil institution. After all, most marriages are performed by clergy and the majority are in religious settings. I felt that civil union met the needs of gays so why offend the religions? Then I saw an older woman interviewed and she had explained that she and her partner had been waiting 30 or 40 year for this day. They have lived together as a family and wanted to be married. That's about as successful as a married couple can be, still wanting to be married after all that time! And I thought, all Americans are entitled to their own pursuit of happiness. Gays who buy into a system of family values should have the same family rights as others. I also used to get grossed out when I hear same sex marriage, but then I look at Ellen DeGeneres, for example, she is the sweetest the person that could be. Opinions about same sex marriage crossed out so many times and places as well as thru out the years. Many say that time is changing and over the years people slowly will accept the gay marriage.…

Everybody should have the right to a legally recognized union with a partner of their choice. The debate over whether or not people in same sex relationship should be allowed to marry, or even enter into civil unions is no new fight. Legalizing gay marriage has brought a new trend which then providing the arguments on supporting gay marriage such as denying them is a violation of religious freedom and minority discrimination encourages people to have strong family values and constitute a good based family as well as giving up high-risk sexual lifestyles. Homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle nowadays with most evidence proving biological causation, and marriage benefits should be available to all couples.…

The question that is very much debated in America today is whether or not homosexuals should be allowed to get married here in the United States. There are many different opinions on the subject and my feelings are, if two people love each other and are able to commit to one another and remain in a relationship as husband and wife then it should not matter if it is two men, or two women that are making this type of commitment. There are some people that believe marriage of two people of the same sex is not moral and I have to disagree with this.…

Gay marriage discussions are highly present in our society. Student writer, A.J. Chavez argues that not only should marriage occur between a man and a woman, but also the same sex. He articulates his thoughts on how if the same sex feels the same way a straight couple feels, and then it shouldn’t be a problem. However, our society uses religious views and traditional morals to restrain gay marriage. Apparently, we as a nation are indecisive on this issue today. The student writer states valid arguments and backs it up completely. In Chavez’s essay, he argues his point of view on gay civil unions.…

Marriage is known to be a foundation between a man and a women and if two of the same sex are unified, individuals view that as wrong. Relationships of the same sex are often referred to being immoral and a social experiment. Some religions feared that if gay marriage became legal that the churches would be forced to marry gay couples at their will. After researching this specific topic, I truly believe that it is safe to say that the pros outweigh the cons in this discuss in my own belief. As well as in my opinion, I feel that as long as there is peace, love will be found. If we the people chose to abide by the Constitution than that is what needs to happen. People will forever have their own opinions but if others are happy it should not matter if it does not affect you or your life. Gay marriage was legalized and though individuals think that is wrong on the Constitutions part, they need to realize that we are America the free and even if the same genders are allowed to marry, we are still free as a…

The final legalization of same-sex marriage throughout the world is a step towards having a more equal society. Everyone is entitled to have the same rights. At the same time, allowing gay marriage would end oppression inside society and create harmony and peace. Katha Pollitt counters arguments against marriage between homosexuals in her essay “What’s Wrong with Gay Marriage?”. I think the main purpose of this essay was to convince the reader that there is absolutely nothing wrong with gay marriages. The author starts her essay with a question because she disagrees that gay marriage threatens the so-called institution of marriage. Pollitt jumps from one argument to another and looks at the institution of marriage from various perspectives, such as history, politics, society and religion. She wonders why so many people do not treat marriage seriously, and yet deny it to gays, showing hypocrisy. She gets very emotional in the defense of gay marriage in this piece. The author then informs the reader that she does not like marriage. She argues that marriage is “not about sex, it’s about separation of church and state”.…

Gay marriage is a topic that is heavily debated in this day and age. Whether or not it should be legal for homosexuals to get married is a theme that authors Andrew Sullivan, who wrote “For Gay Marriage” and William J. Bennett, who wrote “Against Gay Marriage” use in there articles. The main points the authors both discus is the meaning of marriage itself, the social impact same sex marriage will have on society, and the influence on children and teens. Although, the authors have similar themes disused in their topics, there are more differences in how they view same sex marriage.…
