El Salvador is a small South American country in the northeast bordering Honduras, Belize, and Guatemala. El Salvador is a very mountainous country and its capital is under a volcano. This makes the drug trade very easy for the gangs of El Salvador. The gangs of el Salvador are the Mara Salvatrucha and their rivals the calle 18. Both of these gangs are at war with the police and each other over drug routes. These gangs use the mountains for their operations. The gangs are considered some of the world’s worst and most ruthless. They do not see the police or el Salvador military as threats. The gangs in their own right are a military they have the numbers and they have a caste system such as colonels, captains, and generals. Gangs as well
