A Freelance writer is a person who writes for an organization or an individual on a contract basis (Moore 4). As such, freelance writers are self-employed individuals who are not pledged to one organization or employer. Unlike other professionals, freelancers have to come up with their own timetables. Notably, most freelance writers practice writing as part time jobs. However, some writers work as full-time freelance writers. To become a freelance writer, an individual must have a passion for writing. Equally, all freelance writers will attest to the fact that discipline, research skills, and time management skills are important attributes of an effective freelancer (Allen 12). With the widespread usage of the internet, opportunities for freelance writers have increased.
