Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Who's The Best President?
“Who is the best president?”. That question has been debated for years upon years now. From Woodrow Wilson to Barack Obama, there are a plethora of presidents who can be named the worst or best throughout the last 100 years or so. Many people argue over who was best. President Harry Truman, and Franklin Roosevelt were two powerhouses. From Truman being credited in helping the creation of NATO and the CIA, to Roosevelt's times from the Great Depression to WWII. Both presidents were fantastic, but the best president in the last 100 years is simply, Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was not only known for being “Teflon Ron” or being known for cracking jokes, he is profoundly known for crushing communism, strengthening the economy and our national defense, …show more content…
Roosevelt took America by the hand and lead us out of the Great Depression and lead us full steam ahead into WWII. Not only did he keep a big role in foreign world, he was also very implemented in helping out America at the domestic front. He passed the social security act in 1934 to what he believes is one of his greatest accomplishments. Roosevelt knew that the people who lost their jobs from the great depression needed long term assistance, so he put forth the Social Security bill, letting people 65 years and older have a monthly income and not have to worry. FDR also has a record for the longest serving president in United States history of about three and a half terms. Arguably the biggest impact that FDR had on the Unites States was the first and second new deal. The new deal was executed by Roosevelt in 1933, and it quickly took away the black cloud that was The Great Depression. Yes the first new deal helped, but it did not completely solve the economic problems that were going on. The second new deal was enacted in 1935. That same year the economy slipped back to normal and people had their jobs back. FDR was a fantastic president, leading America out of the black depression and into the golden …show more content…
