The Franks tribes were the more dominant tribe of the lower and middle Rhine because they were sturdier. The Franks’ achievements and stabilization were due to the Frankish rulers and Romans merging together in the Catholic faith- making the Frankish kingdom the largest and most powerful of the Germanic tribes to succeed the Roman Empire in the West. The Franks created their own language called the “Frankish”. “The Franks” in Frankish meant free, or fierce. This brought the tribe much encouragement and strength and will later be the foundation making The Franks one of the strongest tribes during the 3rd century.
The Franks are known for being under the leadership of King Clovis the 1st during his reign from 481 to 511: Clovis founded the Merovingian Dynasty which ruled the Franks until about 710 BC, he led the Franks people to numerous victories on the battlefield, and he converted his people to Christianity which will later get him recognized as the 1st king of the Franks to ever be acknowledged by the pope as king. History being made by this one man led and guided the Franks to being a powerful tribe for many years.
