Most models continued to feature the 250 CID I-6 as the standard engine. Optional engines included the 302-2V 351W-2V, the new available with a 2- or 4-barrel carburetor, and the new 4 . It should be noted that selecting the 351-2V on the option list could have resulted in the buyer receiving either the 351W-2V or the 351C-2V; both shared the same power rating and VIN code. The 429-4V was available in three different versions. The first was the 429 Thunder Jet, the standard engine for the Cobra, rated at 360 hp Next was the 429 CJ rated at 370 hp which included a 2-bolt main block, hydraulic lifters, a 700 CFM Holley or 715 CFM Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, and was available with or without Ram Air. The top 429 option was the 429 rated a 375 hp , and was part of the "Drag Pack" option. Selecting the "Drag Pack" option turned a 429 CJ into a 429 SCJ. The drag pack required either the 3.91:1 or the 4.30:1 axle ratio, and included a 4-bolt main engine block, forged pistons, 780 CFM Holley carburetor, engine oil cooler, and a solid lifter cam. The 429 SCJ was available with or without Ram Air induction, both versions sharing the same power ratings. Ram Air induction was also optional on the 351C-4V. The Ram Air option was revised to include a new "shaker hood" where the scoop was attached to the top of the air cleaner assembly, and protruded through a hole in the hood. The 'shaker ' nickname came from the fact that it vibrated, or shook, when the engine was running. A 3-speed transmission was standard on all models except the Cobra. The Cruise-O-Matic

If the car had no drivetrain it could not drive, and the owner would be forced to push the car everywhere. A car’s drivetrain contains the engine, transmission, and driveshaft. The name Boss 302 was given by Ford because they used a 302 ci engine in the Mustang. The engine placed in the Boss 302 was given a little bit extra. Ford gave the engine a four valve carburetor to help the engine produce 290 horsepower and 290 foot pounds of torque. The transmission is another key component in the drivetrain. The transmission’s main purpose is to shift the gears and keep the engine’s RPMs low. The car’s transmission is powered by the crankshaft of the engine. In 1970 the standard transmission for a Boss 302 was a 4-speed manual, but one could opt out and choose to have an automatic. The last major part of the drivetrain is the driveshaft. Without a driveshaft the car’s wheels would be unable to move. The driveshaft of the car is attached to and controlled by…

In keeping with original exterior body style of this American icon, the redesign captures the curvature with subtle softening of the contour. The front end design integrity has been protected by keeping the original round headlights inset into the grill. The integrity was also well maintained in providing the same style of tail light to match that of the older counterpart. Another aspect that has held the integrity of the original 1960’s model is performance. The performance of the 6.4 liter 470 horsepower 2010 model still provides the sought after horsepower of 1960’s model. This model also provides maximum acceleration in keeping with the older counterpart. In today’s times, the 2010 provides that same stigma as the older counterpart as the muscle care of this day and…
