Football Is Dangerous
From my knowledge about football, I do think that football is dangerous for high school players. There are studies done that have proven there are more high school players getting hurt then the college players. “According to the study, published in the August 2007 issue of The American Journal of Sports Medicine, four out of every 1,000 high school football exposures resulted in an injury, while eight out of every 1,000 collegiate football exposures in an injury.” In a way, high school football players tend to get injured easier because they are not fully developed like the adults. Their tissues are not as strong as the collegiates & their brain isn’t fully developed either. In that case, too much hits on the head can seriously injure them.

No matter what is done, injuries cannot be prevented, but changes can reduce the amount of them. Changes can be made on how it’s played and make progress on lowering the amount of injuries while playing. In some studies, one reason why high school students might get injured more often can also be because instead of telling their coach that they might have a concussion, they go back to the game so they won’t be in the sidelines. Doctors and the N.F.L. consider not going to the game until fully healed so you won’t get any more injured than you already are. Mark Lovell suggested limitations to try to prevent concussions. Therefore, by adding limitations, there is a chance on making it safer for high school football and college football.
With proper training and conditioning, there is likely to be less injuries involved. Like I said in the beginning it won’t fully prevent them but it will reduce the amount of them. Overall I have read about the dangers of football, I definitely agree that it’s dangerous for high school. It’s just better off to follow the several changes the people made to make football safer and reduce any players

“Pro football is like nuclear warfare. There are no winners, only survivors.” -Frank Gifford. Football is a full contact sport, so it is not supposed to be safe, and no one ever expected it to be safe. Recently the effects of countless head injuries endured by players many years ago had just started to surface. The NFL has started to attempt to make professional football as safe as they possibly can without ruining the game. The majority of the rules the NFL has in place are necessary when it comes to how the game is played and maintaining the safest environment on the football field for the players, however some of the other rules being added to the rulebook are arguably unnecessary and truthfully ridiculous. Players are more often than not…

The effects that these concussions have on the thinking, behavior and attitudes of the youth. Many of them begin to act out with negative or aggressive behavior, they underperform in school, and many often acquire anger issues. These results are alarming. I believe that for this to change there must be awareness of these negative effects and focus on the children and protecting them. Concussions are not the only dangers in youth football, there are also reports of children paralyzed and other severe injuries that can stick with them for many years and often sometimes the rest of their…
