Food Is Better Than School Lunches
If you visit a school around lunch time and look around, you’ll see that 75% of the kids have lunches from the cafeteria. But is it better to bring your own lunch? You should bring your own lunch from home because the food in the cafeteria is not healthy, you don’t know what is being put in your food, and if you didn’t like the lunch for that day you wouldn’t eat it. Most schools are trying to upgrade their lunches and offer better food. However, not every school cafeteria provides appealing, healthy lunch choices.
For instance, most school cafeterias don’t have healthy lunches. Some unhealthy lunches include macaroni and cheese, chicken wings, and cheeseburgers. Instead of those unhealthy foods, you could bring fruits a granola bar or another option would be a sandwich and nuts. In the sixth and seventh grade, I wouldn’t bring my own lunch to school and the food was so greasy that I had to use 3 to 4 napkins to fully take off the grease. Most people have allergies to foods like peanuts, eggs, and wheat. Schools aren’t explicit with the ingredients in the foods they make. You don’t have control of what’s in your food. My friend usually gets food from the cafeteria and one day she was just casually eating her pizza until I pointed out that there was a hair in it. She stopped eating it right away and now brings her lunch to school every day. Imagine you’re just eating your lunch that you packed and the kid next to you is eating a musty school lunch. The kid next to you starts coughing his face is getting red and puffy he is having and allergic reaction to what he was eating but didn’t know that it was in his food.
