Floor Nurse Reflection
One thing I noticed that could use some improvement is the report given to staff on different floors when the patient is being admitted after surgery. My preceptor Deb allowed me to give this kind of report several times. My issue occurred due to me being unsure of what information to provide to the floor nurse. All I had in front of me was the patient’s profile along with the sheet that the anesthesiologist fills out during the surgery. I was not completely sure what I needed to tell the floor nurse, which did make me exclude some information that the floor nurse wanted. I believe a good way to fix this would be to have a list of things to tell the floor nurse; this will not only help new employees but help standardize what is being told across
