However, Brice finds her annoying and tries hard to avoid her in primary school. He even chases for a girl who he does not like to keep Julie away.
His grandfather, Chet, who moves to live with his family mentions about Juli. Juli was posted on local newspaper because she tries to protect a tree. She finds peace and the beauty of the world while sitting in the tree. She sits on the tree for hours so that the workers will not cut it. No one helps her, including Bryce. The tree is cut at the end and she feels so disappointed in Bryce that she keeps avoiding him, but she forgives him
