The consumption of flaxseed oil has many health benefits. This oil has attracted many nutritionists due to its rich content of many nutrients, including omega-3 fatty acids and dietary fiber, which are essential for your body to function properly. With a daily intake of flaxseed oil you will prevent an occurrence of many dangerous conditions and, you will maintain your body in good health.
Nutrient Content of Flaxseed Oil
The flaxseed oil is a rich source of many healthy nutrients. It contains a high level of omega-3 fatty acids, dietary fiber, calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron, cooper, zinc and selenium. This oil is rich in vitamins B2, B3 and B6, as well as vitamin K. The omega-3 fatty acids are necessary for the overall health of your body. The flaxseed oil is the number one source of an alpha-linolenic fatty acid, known as ALA, which is responsible for providing the cells membranes with protection. This oil is made up of 57% of ALA. Only 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil contains 8 grams of this fatty acid, which is more than the suggested dose of a daily intake of the omega-3s.
