Fistula Research Paper
Although the main way to prevent a fistula is to give birth in a hospital the mother can take preventative action to reduce her risks. Giving birth at a hospital will grant security to the mother that if her labour is prolonging she could have a C-section to avoid having an Obstetric Fistula.
• Waiting until you are in your mid-twenties to early-thirties to have children will lower the risks of complications that arise when giving birth.
• Less water during labour you should consume little to no water as having a full bladder puts you at risk to develop a fistula.
