Over the next couple of months, I will be conducting research on Target (TGT) and J.C. Penny (JCP). The reason for this is so that I may give my insight on which company I feel will be the most desirable one for Celash, Byrne & Moovon (CB&M). . Using detailed financial statements on file with the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as data available on each of the companies web sites, Foundations of Financial Management With Time Value of Money, course book, Interpretation of Financial Statements, and The Value Line Investment Survey, make a recommendation as to which of the two is the most desirable acquisition and at what price.…

For The Bullard Houses negotiation I was assumed the role of the buyer’s representative. Upon reading the case for the first time, I knew it would be very challenging to negotiate with the seller when I was instructed not to reveal the intended use of the site I was looking to purchase. I prepared by making a list of what I had to keep in mind not to mention as well as the points I wanted to stay within. I had a resistance point of twenty four million and an alternative offer of twenty million, therefore I was going to start my offer around sixteen million if I was offering the opening bid. However, the “seller” I was partnered with had already performed this negotiation, so I took it into my best interest to observe another negotiation and write this journal entry on the actions they took.…

    Whale Print Company Case

It was Monday morning and Victor Hussey, president of Whale Printing Company, was considering whether to take on a job at what seemed to him to be a marginal price A half hour earlier Katharine Salter, president of Salter Associates, had called to say she needed 10,000 copies of an advertising brochure by Friday noon. She gave Hussey the specifications and said there had been so many delays in getting the copy ready that her regular printer did not have capacity that week. She said he had previously agreed to do the work for £700 and Hussey could have the job at the same price. She needed an answer within an hour.…

    Economic Goals

    • 500 Words

Efficiency is one of the most important goals of an economic system. An efficient economic system is one that gets the most out of an input with a little waste as possible. Another way of explaining this model would be to use to smallest amount of resources to carry out the result that is wanted. This is a theory that is almost universally accepted. The reason that people agree with it is quite simple. Nobody would want to use more of something to produce less. There is no conceivable reason to favor a more wasteful way of producing something.…

    Financial Management

Hello Jackie and thank you for your honest posting about nursing and financial management. I too have very little experience with marketing, budgeting , and economics. I consider myself a more scielnce person so this coarse was very challenging to me as well. I am embarrassed to say that I struggled sometimes with the subject matter just because I am not as finicaially as savy. Nurses have to have more knowledge about patients and costs of nursing expenses. I do not think you failed because as we fail we learn and this is what this coarse was really all about to expand our knowledge of nursing economics and management. I think nursing and compensation is going to change for the worst .I am afraid to say it and I realize that that goes against the grain but more people are going into nursing for the security of a job and not the passion so the demand and need will decrease I know there are a lot of jobs out there but they are not filled due to budgeting which is essential and necessary to keep costs down and to maintain budgets. As you say nurses are under paid and likely to stay that way because with the economic downturn the demand has decreased so the education requirements have increased. I think its key for us all to network and utilize our resources now more than ever. Developing relationships with people in our organizations we work for and networking builds coalitions to influence goals and resources which allocates lateral relationship building, where there is no influence or authority, helps nurses effectively attain their goals Finkler, Kovner, & Jones, 2007).SS…

    1. Try to increase the market shares. According to the Dish Network annual report, the corporate has 13.967 million subscribers until December 31, 2011, which represent approximately 14% of pay-TV subscribers in the United States. In the first season this year, Dish has increased its customer group by 22,000. Therefore, Dish Network can keep trying to retain the existing customers and increase the potential customers to gain more market shares. With the current customer’s base, the corporate can set having 13.997 million subscribers as a goal, which means increase approximately 0.21% of the market shares in the second quarter.…
