The Cuban politician and revolutionary named Fidel Castro, had miraculously avoided 634 assassination attempts. These assassinations were mostly carried out by the CIA and Cuban exiles. One of the assassination schemes involved recruiting one of Castro's former lovers as a hitwoman who was supposed to sneak a poison pill into Castro's mouth while he slept. The woman later reported that Castro found out about this attempt and gave the woman his gun to kill him, but did not do it.
