Feminism vs. “Meninism” In 2015, “It was just a joke,” is most commonly used among social media disputations. We are told not to take it seriously and to laugh it off because they’re not targeted towards us personally; and yet they degrade our gender as well as their own in every sort of way. Feminism simply means, “The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.” Being a woman and/or being part of the LGBTQ+ community it is difficult and terrifying to be a part of in this generation.     Feminism is a fight for equality and should help everyone realize that equality needs to be shared on a global spectrum. The push for feminism has been widely spread across North America but it needs to be brought into other countries as well. Gay says, “What about other women of color?
