Famous Person Interview

My interviewee was 67year old Asian women. Her name is Dulce Z Roberts; she moved to Tallahassee, FL in 2003. She is originally from Philippines. Before she moved to Tallahassee, she use to lived in virgina for 13 years. She was born in 1948; she went to the Philippines’ schools during her childhood; she did graduate in her native language at Philippines. She worked in naval base at Philippines. During her school period, she was a track runner. She moved to United States in 1971 and she has been leaving in different states of USA because of her husband’s job. After 1977, she became a mother and a house-wife, and she raised her three kids until 1993.Afterwards, she attended one year certification program at one of the USA college for learning
The other changes that she felt on that age was less energy and difficulty in standing more than 30 minutes. She had knee replacement surgery at age of 61 and afterwards she started wearing compression socks for long standing at work. After her knee replacement she was feeling more difficulty with long distance walking and standing. She is driving at work and for grocery shopping, but she feels that the strength in her body is not same as before 60’s.The historical event that my interviewee remembers was the explosion of Mount Pinatubo in June, 1991 at Philippines. It was the largest eruption and affected so many people. Her family member was also the victim of that eruption. When she heard about explosion on news she was shocked, afraid, and worried about the family members. Fortunately, her family member survived, but they lost their house. When I heard about that volcanic eruption, I was surprised that how other country people suffered from unexpected natural disaster. I felt that definitely the victims of that incident faced some mental shock for certain period of time. It is really hard to balance your life when you lose all your resources
