Ezekiel And The Woods: A Narrative Fiction
Ezekiel tumbled to the ground cautiously, letting his vehicle skid to a halt. He heard something sizzle, which couldn’t be a good sign of anything. The air was chilly, but there weren’t many clouds. A sunset lit the place where he’d landed sweetly. He picked a few thorns from his coat sleeve. Casually, he strolled between the trees, hoping that he might be able to find some help. Or some ice cream. Zeke was always up for ice cream.

Making a point to get some, the boy stumbled through mud and woods in an attempt to find someone. Ezekiel then found a stream of running water. He chose to follow it, moments after startling some deer. Zeke hummed the chorus to his favorite song, Strung Along, a song he knew certainly didn’t exist in the time period

Aside from a broken-down shed that looked practically ancient, Zeke saw absolutely nothing to imply anyone being nearby.

Zeke followed the stream until he could see a bridge in the distance. The telltale crunch of leaves alerted him to the presence of a stray cat. The boy got down and kneeled in front of it, rubbing its fur affectionately. The cat was a nice shade of ginger, and it purred loudly at his touch. By Zeke’s guess, a good fifteen to twenty minutes was spent sitting on the ground and petting that cat.

When he finally got up, he remembered his objective and began walking again. Then Zeke froze, turned and picked up the poor cat, then continued on his merry way. Suddenly, he heard a twig snap. Zeke whipped around to find the source, then watched a girl in a sky-blue hoodie with wildly dyed hair sit down and let her feet dangle over the running water. Cat still in hand, Ezekiel ducked for cover.

Annalisa pulled her dyed hair back into a ponytail and slid into her hoodie. The golden five-thirty sunlight tipped the treetops in pastel orange and pink. Carefully closing the door behind her, she walked outside with a half-smile blissfully laid out on her

The first 39 books of the larger work called the Bible, is called the Old Testament. The Bible itself is arguably the best selling and most read book of all time, yet it’s well known to be quite challenging to read through and understand. The Old Testament portion of the Bible, notably the most difficult portion of the Bible for most to study and follow, yields 39 books from multiple authors, and spans over 4000 years of crucial world and church history. If that were not enough to take on, the Old Testament comes our way through multiple styles of authorship and formats, including but not limited to, books of history, law, proverbs, ethics, philosophy, treatises, dramas, songs, epics, biographies, and letters. There have been many books written and published to survey, explain, and/or bring to light the Old Testament, but none more helpful to me than the review subject of this paper, the work of Dr. Elmer L. Towns, entitled “A Journey Through the Old Testament”.…

I could see the heat waves rising off the pavement on the road ahead as the traffic began to thin out. Not letting the heat of a Texas summer ruin my trip, I turned up the air conditioner. I could not help but smile as I felt the frosty air as it blew my hair back. I continued to head east on the highway. The dark green of the pine trees loomed over the road and seemed to go on forever. The smells of fresh pine filled the car and nearly overpowered my senses. Just outside the pine forest I noticed graceful as they grazed near the road. They briefly looked up and I saw the peace…
