Aside from Macbeth, there are many different examples in our real world of how power corrupts a person. The British historian Lord Acton once said, Power tends to corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely. History provides countless examples in which power spawns corruption. An example is the President Chavez of Venezuela who was elected on a popular vote based on his promises to stop the corruption in Venezuela but soon corrupted the election process and became a dictator in all ways harmful to the country.
