As the internet provides a lot of information and make it easy for anyone who wants it to find the information, but sometimes it is not accurate, because anyone can put whatever he wants in it, and here we need our critical thinking to decide. Nowadays, critical thinking is a primary goal in the modern educational system. Without critical thinking, it would be difficult to distinguish between the right information and the wrong one. Critical thinking is very important, because it means that you are thinking logically. As a critical thinker, when any idea comes to you, you will start to see if it's reasonable, and then you will

As we know, the Internet became the most important source of information and knowledge, it contains information about almost everything we want to know about it, including academic searches in various fields. But the Internet has a weakness point, which is the accuracy of the information in it. Nowadays, anyone can access to Internet and write whatever he wants about anything he wants and upload it to the web, even if he is not a specialist or qualified to write about that topic. It is consider to be one of the most important inventions in modern time. Leah Graham and Panagiotis Metaxas say in their article that ”many students have difficulty recognizing trustworthy sources, though perhaps the underlying problem is a lack of understanding of the Internet as an unmonitored source of information”(Graham & Metaxas, 2003). So, students need to learn and gain the skill of critical thinking as an essential skill for using the internet as source of information. At the root, critical thinking is used as a tool to examine our very thinking processes - assumptions, stereotypes, biases, reasoning. Critical thinking strives to point out that there are not only two sides to every issue, but multiple sides. Critical thinkers strive to break down preconceived thinking patterns and build a more sturdy path to sound reasoning. While I have learned a variety of processes and steps in this critical thinking course, the 3 most significant things that come to mind are commitment, forward thinking, and overcoming obstacles. Critical thinking requires a life time commitment if I expect my thinking to improve. I learned to be mindful of how my past affected my thinking and I learned what processes to put in place to take my thinking to a higher level. Critical thinking leaves no room for emotions and other bad habits that hinder thinking. The emotions that once drove my thinking have been replaced with a drive to move past emotion and consider what lies beyond. Critical thinking is an important source in overcoming obstacles that might hinder good and reasonable conclusions or solutions to problems and issues.…

Critical thinking can be defined as a type of reasonable, reflective thinking that is aimed at deciding what to believe or what to do. You could also view it as a way of deciding whether a claim is always true, sometimes true, partly true, or false. For me personally, I see it as a way to view things free of bias so I may better understand the truth in it. Critical thinking is something that everybody should strive for so that they can better understand the world and the other people who they share it with. Maybe this is just a dream, but if everyone could think more critically then I believe we could solve a lot of the problems that plague the human race.…

What is critical thinking? Critical thinking is more than just thinking through a situation. It is the use of fallacies and rhetorical devices that allow you to better prepare your argument to cause certain actions or reactions from yourself and those around you. It is being able to identify creditable information from false information and the way the media is giving you that information. Critical Thinking is not quickly jumping to conclusions but taking time to think through all sides and finding all information to make the best decision that needs to be made for yourself or the situation at hand. In my week one response I simply thought critical thinking was just taking the time to think through things and not making decisions without thinking them through. That is part of critical thinking but it isn’t it entirely. From week one to week nine in this course I have learned what critical thinking really means and I understand now what it means to think critically and what it involves. I have learned how to use critical thinking. I am able to identify fallacies and different techniques the media uses to manipulate certain reactions out of me. I am able to recognize factual information from false information better now than before. I have learned that my week one response to what is critical thinking wasn’t even half of what the answer really is. Critical thinking takes focus and time. In my opinion. I have found myself thinking critically a lot more often than I did before. I catch myself before making snap judgments or decision and remind…

Critical Thinking is a discipline of thinking that is clear, rational, open minded and informed by evidence. I believe it is the way an individual dissects information that is presented and conducts one’s own thinking process to come to a conclusion. This may be presented to an individual in simple everyday occurrences or in a more difficult life changing decision. Whether the matter is pertaining to bias in the media or how one perceives daily life, we conduct critical thinking on a daily bases. The extent of an individual’s knowledge in the thinking is what develops the outcome.…

Since critical thinking begins with assumptions we must first be aware of the assumption, then make the assumption and finally assess it. Critical thinking is how a person assesses the reasons for or against a decision being made so the assumption is neither good nor bad until fully assessed. Critical thinking is also done by being completely unbiased. This can be hard sometimes due to our emotions. Our emotions make up who we are which can sometimes cause barriers when making a critical decision. So the trick is to not ignore or deny our emotions but learn how to manage and handle them. In order to manage our emotions we may need to argue with ourselves or others whether or not something is true or not. An argument will allow the issue to be assessed along with the reasons of why or why not a decision is valid. The argument will also lead to one or more conclusions in determining what the final decision should be. The ultimate objective in thinking critically is to come to conclusions that are correct and to make decisions that are wise. (Critical thinking (10th ed.) (Moore & Parker). So to me critical thinking is not ill formed decisions but decisions that have been thought through and weighed to come up with the best conclusion. It usually isn’t our first thought that comes to mind. You have to critically think about the conclusions you are trying to come to without being biased in the process, which as I said can be difficult because we all have emotions.…
