Examples Of Compromise In To Kill A Mockingbird
The Great Compromise
I believe in compromise, and my dad Atticus made me understand it perfectly. My dad Atticus made a compromise with me he said “if you’ll concede the necessity of going to school, we’ll go on reading every night just as we always have.” He asked me if it was a bargain? I naturally said “yes sir.” “Do you know what compromise is?” “An agreement reached by mutual concessions.” I believe in compromise sand that’s why because I had a comprise with my dad Atticus.
I had a horrid day at school all because of my teacher Ms. Caroline. Ms. Caroline told me to tell my father not to teach me any more; it would interfere with my reading. My dad didn’t teach me anything. I tried in telling her my dad don’t have the time in teaching

Is there really such a thing as true equality? Can equality really be found in places like court? In To Kill a Mocking Bird, Harper Lee says that all men are created equal in courts. The book proves that through the results of the trial and the actions of the people after the trial, not all men are created equal, even in courts…

In the Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird argues that the definition of equality is diffrent for diffrent people. There are many different examples of this throughout the story, and that prove that equality still has issues today. One example that shows the different definitions of equality is how different members of the town reacted to Atticus defending Tom Robinson. While some of the town supported Atticus with defending Tom, and even change their views like Mr. Underwood, who said he would defend Atticus the night some of the town tried to lynch Tom in the jail, and some people in the Cunningham family, since one of the Cunninghams almost acquitted the trial by not agreeing that Tom was guilty.…

There are many themes in the book To Kill a Mockingbird. Deceptive appearances are one of them and that is what I will prove. People like, Dolphus Raymond, Lafayette Dubose, and Boo Radley. These characters may be portrayed as drunks, mean old spirited, or psycho, but that may not be what they truly are. Deceptive appearances are presented plenty of times; they are usually people who want to be different from the population without being judged.…

As a child progresses in their life, they learn proper behavior; most of which is learned through mistakes. For example, if a child participates in an immoral act, such as swearing, a parent could yell at that child and punish them for cursing. By punishing a child for doing something wrong, the child realizes they made a mistake, and will be less likely to make the same mistake in the future. However, if the parent had not yelled at the child, the child would not know any better and most likely continue cursing. The method of a child learning by mistakes is very effective in any situation, and instead of fearing mistakes, children can learn to embrace errors and move forward with maturity, success and wisdom. In To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, Jem and Scout Finch…

Atticus, a fair and honest father wants his children to understand his motivation and reason for not conforming to society, Within both texts, the fathers advise their children to follow their conscience, and don’t let hate of other people make them change their minds. That other people may have a different opinion but they need to respect them and just know that they have reasons just like they do. Being able to respect somebody is a huge step in having empathy, and that is an idea that the fathers are introducing the children to. In addition to counselling his son about staying strong, he tells his son, “If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster/and treat those two imposters just the same” (Stanza…

One reason for why I think Atticus is a good father is that he has taught or got Calpurnia to teach his children at home, even before they went to school. "She would set me a writing task by scrawling the alphabet firmly across the top of the tablet, then copying out a chapter of the bible beneath.” By this quote you can realise that Atticus is very responsible as he has found someone to be a mother figure to his children. Furthermore he has taught them already even before they started going school, this makes him reasonable as he is thinking about how he can make them more intelligent and get them the best future possible.…

Justice vs. Injustice is a very prevalent theme in the text To Kill a Mockingbird, the song “You’re Crashing, But You’re No Wave” and the article The Nation: The Central Park Jogger; An Old Case in a Different New York. In To Kill a Mockingbird (TKAM), Atticus Finch is called on to defend a black man accused of rape. Before the case is turned over to the jury, Atticus presents the jury with his final argument. He believes that the case requires “no minute sifting of complicated facts,” and should be easily decided. Atticus asks the jury not to get caught by the Prosecutor's case, as they gave very few adequate points and are relying on the assumption that “all negroes lie, that all negroes are basically immoral beings.” Sadly, Tom Robinson…
