Events That Caused The American Revolution

The American Revolution was the war between the colonists and the British. It was seven years from 1775-1781. There were many very important events that caused the American Revolution. Three important events that caused the American Revolution were: the Boston Massacre, Paul Revere’s famous ride along with the Battles of Lexington and Concord, and The Declaration of Independence. The first important event, was the Boston Massacre, which occurred on March, 1770. The colonists had already been mad at the British, because of their governing and many trading restrictions. It occurred when a colonist was arguing with a British Captain outside of the Customs House. The crowd was taunting the British to fire, some witnesses heard the captain give the order to shoot, and others heard differently. Altogether, six people died. The Boston Massacre eventually became an advertisement for patriotism, because after the Boston Massacre, colonists were mad at the at the vicious attack from the British on the unarmed colonists. Paul Revere’s ride went from Charlestown to Lexington and Concord. The ride led to the battle, and they helped the colonists win against the British by warning other minutemen to get ready and hurry to the battle. However, the British and the Colonists were the only ones involved,with the Battles. When the British reached Lexington for the battle, both sides gave the other side a chance to surrender or back out. The first shot was unknown to either side. The Battles of Lexington and Concord was caused by the British taxing the colonies, the fact that British sent more men over from england to monitor the colonists.
