The school is named after Agnes Campbell Macphail, a Canadian politician who served as the first female Member of Parliament in the Canadian House of Commons. The school, founded in 1981, stood for many of the same things that Macphail did, including her commitment to greatness. Day nurseries deliver care, play and education for children from about 2 months to 5 years. They are normally open all day between 8am and 6pm and will be registered with Ofsted. 3 and 4 year olds can access a fund to get 15 hours /week for 38 weeks per year free. There is no guarantee of a funded place and the nursery must be registered with the scheme. If a parent is on a low income and possibly receiving benefits then they may be eligible for a funded early education place. The following guidance focuses especially on providing deeper guidance for developing strong educational goals and measures – i.e., those that will comprise the Academic and Student Non-Academic Performance indicators of your charter agreement. This task demands particular attention because educational performance indicators are often more challenging to state in meaningful, objective terms than are non-educational measures, such as those focusing on Organizational and Management Performance (the third category of performance indicators required for your charter agreement). However, the principles for developing all of these types of goals and measures are very similar; thus, to the extent applicable, you should follow the guidance in these pages for developing your non-educational goals and measures as well. "A leader is one who influences others to attain goals. Leaders orchestrate change, set direction, and motivate people to overcome and move the organization toward its ideal future" (Bateman & Snell, 2004, p30). An effective leader will delegate tasks to other individuals and trust him or her to carry out the assigned task to completion. In the Spokane Public School, the principal in each school holds the role of leader. The job is for the administrator to understand the process of education and the state and federal regulations that mandate education. The administrator is then able to communicate effectively to all instructional staff the curriculum that needs to be implemented in each classroom.…

Jerry Farber, a professor at the University of California wrote an article, titled “A Young Person’s Guide,” that discussed grades and the impact, or lack thereof, they have on learning. Farber is correct in saying that our school grading systems are terrible because grades are not an accurate representation of someone's knowledge.…
