In Ender's Game, euphemism is present while the government does not tell Ender the whole truth about his activities, which affects Ender’s actions drastically, proving euphemism alters people's decisions. When Granger travels to Ender’s house to recruit Ender to help destroy the bugger aliens, he used tons of understatements to persuade Ender to come. Granger tells Ender that he will fight for Valentine, Ender’s sister, who will be saved from the possibility of dying but, Ender is really needed to save humanity.     As soon as Graff returns to his cabin, boys start picking on Ender because of Graff's work. The child behind Ender pokes him in the head repeatedly. Patiently, Ender times when the next blow would arrive, and breaks the assailant's arm. Ender's newest tormentor is that boy who broke his arm, Bernard. The students are introduced to the battle room for the first time. They wear stiff flash suits and have glass-like laser guns. Ender begins flying around and testing out the suit. He saw that pulling the trigger on the gun illuminated some light on the floor. The two new friends collect their closest friends, Shen and Bernard, and attack the other sixteen launch members. I first met Thomas a couple hours after we crash landed onto that dreaded island. I made fun of him initially, by calling him Piggy in front of the other kids, even though he told me not to. But I apologized and we ended up becoming good friends. In our first couple days, Thomas didn’t want to play because of his asthma.
