Essay On Summer Driving
Everyone who has the privilege of learning to drive has to learn in whatever weather is occurring. This means driving in spring, summer, autumn, or winter. The task of learning to drive is stressful all on its’ own, but adding changing weather makes it all the more difficult. The most major concern is driving in the winter as compared to driving in the summer. Driving during these two seasons is like night and day for many reasons. Many individuals have the misconception that driving during the summer season has almost no risk associated with it. Although the roads are friendly during the summer, there are still a myriad of risks that individuals should be aware of. During the summer season there are people going to the lake, or the park, or to wherever they wish to go in order to enjoy the weather. People are more likely to be out drinking and partying. This means that people are more likely to be driving while intoxicated. New drivers, as well as veteran drivers, need to have amazing situational awareness. This means they need to not only know what other drivers are doing on the road, but pedestrians on the sidewalk and families congregating. Driving in the summer time …show more content…
There are drivers that have been on the road for years, but have never driven in the winter time. They get on the road for the first time in whiteout conditions and they, suddenly, are completely unaware of how to react. They become hyper-focused on the road conditions and tend to become less concerned with everything else going on around them. Their situational awareness gets blinders put on it. Driving in the summer time, the blinders originate from watching pedestrians to make sure they are not in the road; especially those on bicycles.
