Essay On Senioritis
Everyone gets this; it happens at some point in your senior year, maybe even the end of your junior year. It always occurs, no matter how hard you try.

What is this elusive event that always happens?

This event usually goes hand-in-hand with procrastination because, essentially they are the same thing. Senioritis is "a crippling disease that strikes high school seniors (C.)."

There are various symptoms that come with this disease, some of which are very debilitating. According to 15 Signs You're Infected With Senioritis by Sarah Wainschel, the symptoms that go along with senioritis include: loss of hand mobility when it's time to turn off the television, short term memory loss when it comes to remembering when assignments are due, inability to do homework until the very last minute- this usually occurs the period or two before it is due, extreme difficulty waking up in the morning, lack of motivation, feelings of

This means that the individual who has been diagnosed with senioritis may have let his or her

grades slip a little too much to be recovered. Sometimes you can recover from senioritis before it is too late. For many, senioritis is all too real and can be very serious. Most students do not know the full effect of senioritis until they are a senior and begin dismissing essays, such as this one, until the very last minute or not even doing it at all.

Senioritis can affect college acceptances and financial aid. Some colleges rescind acceptances, or take them back and reconsider the applicant. This usually only happens when a student drops his or her grades drastically, such as going from an A student to a C or D student; this makes the college admissions counselors think that he or she is not ready for college. A significant drop in grades can decrease his or her financial aid that was based on academic grades anywhere from one thousand to three thousand

Another reason why my academic performance got so bad was the fact that I didn’t get Financial Aid during the Fall 2008 semester, so I was not able to obtain my books as soon as I would have liked. As a result, I found myself having to catch up to the rest of the class. This obviously put me at a bit of a disadvantage. If I am given another chance, I would not foresee this as being an issue in the future.…

Senioritis: a common illness that is said to strike high schools across the nation and stand as an excuse for plummeting grades from the senior class. It is believed that seniors become incredibly antsy their last year of high school and are looking into the future for a solution to their bored life. Seniors also begin to question whether the classes they are taking are meaningful or not, while sloughing off the tension that comes with high school because they have been there four years and know the ropes. Not all seniors are sucked into this mindset, and many continue to further their academic success throughout their senior year. “Senioritis” brings up all of these points, but does not effectively support the points made.…

This is considered to be the most severe form of senioritis ever discovered, and is known to have horrible side effects such as severe ABAS, laziness, and in some cases it has been known to cause the afflicted to drop out of highschool. Seniors affected with this type of senioritis are known to say things similar to “I’ve had senioritis since the day I was born,” and “C’s get degrees.” These seniors complain about their case of senioritis more often than anybody could ever care to hear, and in some of the most extreme cases they will even talk about their illness even when it appears nobody is listening. One of the defining characteristics of chronic senioritis is its longevity. Seniors affected by this type of senioritis are typically infected by their sophomore year, but can be infected as early as the beginning of their freshman year. These seniors constantly complain about the toll all their hard work has had on them over the years, however they typically haven’t done much, if any, work in high school. The reason Chronic Senioritis is considered to be the most severe of all types of senioritis is its lethal combination of longevity and severity that can so easily reduce even the best students to high school dropouts and basement dwelling…

For most students, Senioritis won’t appear until the later years of high school, most likely the end of junior year and of course during the senior year. For the most part, I don’t think people just become lazy and de-motivated overnight but Senioritis is more of a thing that you adapt through your high school years. Many students try to make their senior year the easiest by doing everything they can for the first three years, so when their senior year comes around you’re not totally swamped with schoolwork. Usually, some seniors get out at the end of fifth period, and some are out of school after lunch. Despite contracting ‘Senioritis’ many students don’t get Senioritis because they’re just so pumped to get out of high school and keep moving…

Everyone wants good grades throughout their years in school, mainly in high school. I am more of a math and science person, other subjects like history and government. Topics like politics, the constitution, the United States Government, political parties and anything else having to do with Government class I had no interest in when I signed up for classes. I know this is something that I should be keeping up to date on because of the upcoming election and everything that changes with the government. The spring of my sophomore year I was looking for different classes to take, I saw AP Government. I thought I could do well in that class, I was motivated to learn something new and excel at something I was not very interested in. The first day of junior year came quickly. Then the first AP government test came even quicker. I studied the night before for hours thinking positive thoughts and finding funny ways to remember different answers. Going into the test I thought I was ready, but when I saw the test I froze. Thinking different thoughts like “When did we learn this?” or “Why did I take this class?”. I pushed all the negative thoughts to the side and completed the test to the best of my ability. The day we got our test back I looked down and about cried. I had never done that bad on a test.…
