Essay On Pokemon Go
A trip to the ER had Greg admitting he stepped off a curb while playing Pokemon Go last week. Sharing how embarrassed he was, he hobbled up to the Pokemon Pub Crawl with his foot in a cast and a crutch. Unfortunately, he was so focused on the phone screen that he didn't realize that he overshot the drop and broke his foot in two places.

Pokemon Go injuries are being reported around the world. People walking into walls, glass and other folks. People falling off sidewalks, curbs and even into potholes. A 15-year-old girl was seriously injured by catching Pokemon while riding her bike. Unable to ride and play Pokemon Go, she fell off and fractured her skull. Curbs, holes and other elements on the ground that you step on might not be stable. Twisting your ankle, breaking a leg or falling and breaking a hip is a real possibility if you aren't paying attention to your next footstep.

Don't run unless you are looking. The man who chased a Pokemon and forgot to look up was shocked to run into a glass door. He broke a leg and had a large wound from the door. According to witnesses he hit the door so hard when he ran that the glass shattered.

Watch out for low branches. This is especially true at parks and outdoor venues. People getting hit in the head, eye and neck didn't see the tree limbs in front of them and get whacked. According to several news outlets, injuries involving player's eyes aren't uncommon as a branch delivers an unforeseen blow.

Go in a group. This way you have more than two eyes paying attention to the area you are playing in. That's not to say you won't get injured, but if one of you pay attention while the other plays, there is a lower

It happens about 100 times a game in the National Football League: a bone-jarring tackle that slams a player to the turf. On the play shown in the photo above, Seattle Seahawks defensive back Marcus Trufant (23) drilled Philadelphia Eagles receiver Greg Lewis (83) with such force that Lewis couldn't hang on to the ball. (Seattle won the Dec. 5, 2005, game at Philadelphia 42-0 in the most lopsided shutout ever broadcast on Monday Night Football.) Incompletions and fumbles aren't the only consequences of such tackles. More than 100 concussions are recorded each season in the NFL. Given the size and speed of today's athletes, it's surprising that more gridiron warriors aren't carried off the field on their shields. For that, they can thank high-tech gear that protects them from the physics at play in the sport's fearsome collisions.…

While many criticize Pokemon Go, claiming that it does not increase the attention to nature and historical/important locations, based on my own experiences, I can say the opposite. While at a summer camp, before Pokemon Go was launched, my daily routine was very limited and predictable, only travelling between my classes, the gym, the library and the dining hall. However, after Pokemon Go was released, I began to walk around more - often even walking miles to go to a nearby town and explore. This not only increased my physical activity, one of its objectives, but also created a reason for me to walk longer distances. In addition, while walking to these nearby towns, I wasn't merely staring at my phone like most people would think, but instead left it by my side, looking around at my surroundings and the different environments. Furthermore, the pokestops also sometimes contained a short description of the location or "object", allowing me to learn more about it. I even walked to a few parks throughout my summer camp. Moreover, Pokemon Go also created a sense of community at my summer camp. Whereas before, very small groups of people would occasionally walk to a nearby town, now much…

The grounds and facilities must be safe for all players. This effectively reduces the risk of many injuries and provides support for the players in the care of an injury. The grounds must be well lit, such as with good lights, so that competitors have clear vision. The grounds must be clear from obstruction to prevent injury. For example, potholes may cause a player to fall over and fracture their ankle. Filling these potholes will promote safe participation. Every year “hundred of thousands college and high school student athletes receive sport related concussions” (Meadows 107-108). Not only do the athletes who play the hard hitting contact sports such as football and hockey receive concussions, the basketball players and soccer players receive them as well. Even though most of the concussions received were mild or grade 1 concussion “athletes still receive severe symptoms due to being able to participate too soon” (Solomos 2435-2436).
