Essay On Middle School Soccer
This paper is for adolescents who have started a sport in middle school or grade school and want to play at a high school level. Soccer is a sport that changes skill level. For instance, I remember when I was playing midfield in middle school. It was one of our biggest games and we were down in the second half. The other team had the ball and it looked like they were going to score again to put the game out of our grasp. A forward from the other team was dribbling at me. I stabbed at the ball, got it and passed to one of the other midfielders. He dribbled up the field and passed the ball to one of our forwards who scored.

Playing middle school soccer was very fun but it was relatively easy. The speed of the game was very slow. I was able to make the right decisions because I had so much time. The skill was pretty easy, all people did was dribble straight and pass through a couple of defenders and hope someone on their team got it. In middle school I really didn’t get yellow or red cards. Speed of the game is faster, skill of the players is better, and the rules are harder to follow. My experience in high school soccer is more fun than playing middle school soccer. All in all high school is a step up in any sport that people may

Soccer is not as popular in the United States as the other sports, but is still popular to parents and kids because it is not as rough as some of the other sports. The American Youth Soccer Organization started in Las Angeles, California in the mid 1920’s by Hans Stierle. The first league had nine teams and new leagues were opened to youth that wanted play, this way kids that had never kicked a ball before could be taught how to play and be put in a lineup. The organization now has 50,000 teams across the United States and 650,000 players in 2010(Silverman, 2011).…

Nearly 65% of children say they participate in sports to be with their friends (Statistic Brain). Sports were established so that the individual could not only exercise, but also to compete against a rival. Just as there are individual sports, there are team sports in high school. The idea of a team sport is that every single person on the field or court must work in unison to have the greatest opportunity to win. In addition to the increasing popularity of sports, the average child’s age when they join a team is decreasing. For example, the age that a child joins a basketball team has shifted from fourth grade to first grade or even kindergarten in the past decade. School is the primary factor when you review the participation in athletics,…

It was so hard because usually when it came to soccer, the games would be during the weekend and practices would be a few days during the week. Finally, after my sophomore year I decided to try again and play for my school.…

Initially, my understanding of soccer was very minimal compared to what the coach, Ahmad, had to teach us. I saw the game of soccer from a brand new perspective after practicing with him. General terms like “man-to-man” and “wing cross”, both widely known among soccer players, were very new to me. Coach Ahmad also had special code words like “the three eagles” that he gave to different plays, that way we could communicate loudly with the other players without the opponents figuring out our strategy. As we met more and more each week, my teammates and I began to get used to the new vocabulary and methods of practice, strategies we were not familiar with, which helped our team interact with each other to strengthen our inner spirits. After only a few weeks, most players had gained a large amount of experience and their soccer skills had drastically improved. We had all become a discrete soccer team ready to begin the school’s private league.…
