Monet’s Water Lilies and Van Gogh’s The Poet's Garden
In Monet’s water lilies, he uses alike colors green and blue. Water is colored blue while lilies are painted green. In Monet’s water lilies, he uses alike colors green and blue. Their interest shows outdoor environment to show effect of natural sun light or atmospheric light on day to day life scene. Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies” is the great example of outdoor paintings and Vincent Van Gogh’s “The garden of the poets” is based on two poets combining with the garden that he is referring to. Van Gough’s painting the Garden of poets of poets is based on two dimensions. The subject matter is landscape by using sunlight reflects from the leaves of the trees.     Claude Monet was an impressionist painter who would later influence the movement of modern art and create one of the most famous paintings Water lilies (Oscar 1). This has been recreated many times by artists all over the world. Claude Monet was born in Paris France on November 14, 1840. In his early life he loved to be outdoors and would always draw in his school books. At the age of five he lived in the Normandy Region with his siblings and later on moved back to Paris after the death of his mother to become an artist; his father wanted him to study business, but he still chose to pursue his dream (Oscar 1). Georges Seurat was part of the Neo-impressionist movement. He was born in Paris France on December 2, 1859; he started to gain interest in art because of his uncle and soon began to take lessons from him. He was enrolled at the famous Ecole de Beaux-Arts Paris. He was fairly interested in work from Monet (Georges 1). They both have their similarities and differences; they both wanted to capture more natural scenery of what everyday life is like. Seurat used a new method called Pointillism, which can be seen in his Sunday afternoon painting (Thomas 162). Monet was mainly known for using brush strokes to show urgency/movement in his paintings.     In nature, bounteous displays and vivid colors are considered ideal, especially when it comes to flowers. A great example of this is Little Bouquet in a Clay Jar by Jan Bruegel. This is an oil painting of an arrangement of flowers in a modest clay pot. The flowers are extremely voluptuous and bountiful in comparison to the small vase. The flowers take up the majority of the SPACE of the painting, displaying their importance and the ideal that nature is plentiful with beauty. The artist used COLOR in a layering effect of the flower-he used mostly blue, red, and darker yellow flowers in the back so that they can be seen threw the mostly lighter colored flowers in the forefront of the arrangement. This adds to the density and volume of the bouquet. The clay pot, wild flowers, and slugs and bugs all add to the natural and organic feel of the painting. Each flower is painted so intricately and with extreme detail despite the incredible volume of flowers. This attention to detail of each individual flower displays the artist’s appreciation and admiration of the beauty of nature and flowers in particular. This is also evident in the way the artist used LIGHT to bring to life the flowers and really capture their vividness, but yet the gold coins and jewelry in the corner is dull in comparison. This painting is a great example of how the idealistic of nature are displayed in artwork.…
