Dear Mr. Allen, Hello, I’m Joanmarie Swanson and I am a part of Marin School of Environmental Leadership (MSEL) at Terra Linda High School. MSEL is a school within a school, which focuses on environmental issues and situations, as well as project-based learning and building leadership skills in students. Our class attended and listened to you speak at the sustainability debate. I support your ideas about shaping the United States.

I agree with you that we should have cleaner air and reduce our dependence of foreign oil, which is a major crisis because it is unhealthy for our land. I value that you created the Solar Sonoma County. If we had local access to renewable energy, especially in schools, then we can teach other children about our crises for renewable energy. I strongly encourage your idea of increasing the amount of money of scholarship, called the Middle School Scholarship program. I also support you in establishing funds to help farmers make the change to organic farming. In the future, I hope that everyone in their homes expands their use of compost to improve water in agriculture. Also, our society in the US should know about your idea in using grey water throughout the country.

All in all, thank you for listening for all I have to say. I strongly support your ideas and views about helping our economy. I hope you consider my thoughts on making our economy a better place.

It is my intention with this letter to convey to you my growing concern of the state of manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Since your election as president, you have fiercely stated that you intend to bring back lost manufacturing jobs in our country. As an Industrial Engineering major in college, I cannot begin to convey my gratitude towards you and your cabinet for this promise, however I do have concerns over your policy.…

Growing up in this millennial generation has been different from the others. The economy that we live in today has different values than what our parents and grandparents have gone through. Our environment has become a world wide sensation and is a topic of discussion in almost every learning environment. In this day and age you could do so much to help the world, economy and your community. This short documentary discussed the environment and ways for us to not cause much stress on it. Eva Hoffman Analysis

I can easily relate to your response, especially when you discussed writing about boring topics in elementary school. In writing, I like to be able add my own creativity, opinion and twist on things. One of the many reasons why I dreaded preparing for the STARR test every year, because there is no way to fit a well developed essay in twenty-six lines. Besides that, I am fond of reading your point of view regarding Eva Hoffman. Even though, I cannot imagine moving to a foreign place, I can imagine what those individuals have done to fit in. High school is strenuous, and I think everyone has said or done something just to fit in. Your response was well thought out and I enjoyed reading your perspective. Keep up the great work and have a great…

    Environmental Racism

Additionally, concern is also focused and geared towards the economic and social struggles in the lack of environmental policy, including environmental racism and justice. While President Nixon created the Environment Protection Agency, others after him, such as President George H.W. Bush’s Administration revisited these victories by leading America to losses for it’s environmentalists. With so many failed attempts in gathering the loyal attention from the public in decades, and engaging them in how important and absolutely necessary it is in creating and maintaining an environment in which fossil fuels, carbon emissions, rises in sea levels, and hazards to aquatic life, are constantly fought against, there needs to be more strength in how the scientific information is shared. Additionally, the lack of consistency and cooperation from differing parties regarding the importance of climate change and global warming, especially in Congress, continuously hurts the work the United States can accomplish in combating climate change. Today, President Obama is criticized for his work towards environmental policy. However, the Obama Administration has been a leading force in the fight for a healthier and more green future, and that has been evident in the policies he has been pushing through with the Environmental Protection…
