Choosing a Career or Major
Introduction
Do you or somebody you may know needs to pick a career or a major for school and/or improve your education? This seems to be a common problem for students to resolve at schools. It is also very important that students make a clear and right decision about it. This can result in a better learning and over all performance as student. There are many ways to find solutions to the problem. Basically my solution comes from the question: What career or major do I like to learn and work on it? Solving this question can help me define and choose my career for a better education. My problem begins with choosing from 3 majors at itt-tech, which are the followings: Electronics, Communications, and Computer Networking. All of these careers are very good for improving your education and to work on them. Electronics, is a science that I like the most and that you can always keep learning about it. There are always new technologies and concepts to learn. You can learn about ac/dc circuits, telecommunications, medical equipment, microcircuits, digital systems, optoelectronics, and communications, etc. But you also need to dedicate the time and resources to learn about new technologies and concepts. The potential and future of this classic science is almost unlimited. It is a huge part of any technology. In college I was major in electronics and will like to continue learning about it. Computer networking is also very important for any technology. The need and use of computers and networks have sky rocket since the 1970’s and on. In our market they are a very important part. The jobs and opportunities that it creates are almost everywhere. You can learn about telecommunications, computers, networking, software, hardware, firmware, operating systems, programming, supercomputers, and much more. Like electronics, you also need time and resources because new technologies tend to be expensive. My experience with this science is mild and therefore I am not too much of a fan of it. This is a science where you need a lot of practice in the labs, and I will need to improve on it in any case. Communications is a part of electronics. At school, is part of the electrical engineering program. You can learn about radio systems, cb-band, antennas, t-v systems, microwaves systems, fiber optics, satellite systems, amplifiers, and much more. It also involves the use and practice of computers and networks. You will need to learn new topics and technologies to improve you knowledge in this field. I am not considering this area because I will like to learn more about electronics.
Conclusions
We can say that these 3 technologies are interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary. All of these 3 areas need good skills, knowledge and practice. At school, I should we able to learn more about electronics for this is my major and career that I will like to follow. We can also say that to study electronics involves the learning of computers. You can always keep learning and improving in the other technologies. The potentials for these 3 areas are: oversees jobs, future studies, commercial applications, teaching opportunities, research and development, implementation and self employment to mention some of the possibilities. In conclusion, any of these careers will make a good choice for any student to improve in technology and proper as well.

Throughout almost everyone’s life, there is a focus on the future, more specifically in a future career. As young children, we have the hopes of being doctors, police officers, fairies, and princess. When we grow older we learn about the realities and the limits of our futures. We understand that we cannot be fairies or the Flash. However, the pressure to decide what to do in life is always there. A pressure which is the most prevalent in the first years of college. In “Major Decisions” by James Tunstead Burtchaell he explores the ways that picking a major in college is less of a pathway to a certain career, but more to wider possibilities in the future. The importance in not in the career that can be the final goal but rather the knowledge about…

    1. The author (Ostrander) emphasizes that students should not stress out over choosing a major. He tells us that what one majors in is less important than the overall qualities, knowledge base, and the skills that one develops. Ostrander also points out that a major is much less important than the skills that people gain by using a quote from an executive, “I look for people who take accountability, responsibility and are good team people over anything else. I can teach the technical.”…

Choosing the right job can be quite unchallenging because this is how you prepare yourself for better things to come ahead in life. When I was younger in my teens, I would jump from job to job, until I got married and eventually ended up joining the US Navy. Choosing a major may be a tricky one because you really don’t know if it may follow-up to the right or perfect career as you wanted it. Picking the best career is a tough choice to make these days. There are so many choices, so many different aspects to consider. Money, the job setting, and how a specific job will affect family life. Growing up I thought about many different options, such as being a professional, specifically a marine-biologist, becoming a soccer star, and owning my own bar-club, can show the different areas I have thought about doing. For the time being though I am fairly certain on my current decision to major in Art and becoming a graphic artist. In the future, I also hope to one day own my own place, either a studio or a production company.…
