Emile Durkheim Commit Suicide

A social pattern that people in society tend to see as a personal choice would be suicide. Emile Durkheim examined how suicide was different by religion, gender, and relationships. Such as if the had children and rates of suicide during peacetime than during war. Durkheim revealed that suicide can be caused by social factors, not just individual ones.
One part of the factor is social integration which is the degree to which members of a group or society feel united by shared values and other social bonds. The more socially integrated a person is the less likely they are to commit suicide. When social integration decreases, people are more likely to commit suicide.
