Elliphant Research Paper
The magnetizing world of EDM or electronic dance music had been dominated by male artists ever since it sprouted out of nowhere in the late 2000s. Many music enthusiasts loved how EDM can turn a simple beat into a hypnotic melody, making them all drowned in a frenzy that they never felt before. Slowly but surely it climbed the ranks of the industry’s pedigree and soon had been one of the most enjoyed genres of the current generation. EDM is always a staple on humongous music congregations and festivals, harnessing a plethora of followers and paved way for other artists to surface with their talents. True enough this is a man’s world but not for Elliphant, a femme fatale that will soon give a new meaning to the androgynous world of EDM.

She had been originally a part of the Swedish production group Jungle before setting out on her own trail as a solo artist. She had first immersed herself to really be out and about as a full-pledged musician when she hitched with Major Lazer on his European tour. With this move, Elliphant successfully etched her name as someone everyone should watch out for and this basically tested how far she can go now that she’s building a career on her own. As a solo artist, Elliphant managed to release her first studio album entitled A Good Idea in October 2013. Whilst this received lukewarm reception from EDM lovers, Elliphant never ceased to pull out more of her talents, combined with passion to perform, in order to be more prolific in her craft.

Living Life Golden, her second official album, skidded well on the charts upon its release in March of this year. Elliphant’s sophomore placed 50th on the Swedish hit charts and 76th on Australia’s version of Billboard. Along the studio projects, Elliphant also channeled who she really is as an artist on the three extended plays she released entitled Elliphant, Look Like You Love It and One More. As for the tracks, we can all remember her doing songs such as Tekkno Scene, Never Been In Love, Spoon Me and Where is
