Elizabeth Argumentative Analysis
Elizabeth Stanton was very important in terms of women’s rights. The Passages “The Birthplace of Women’s” and “A Powerful Partnership” both talk about her. They Do talk about her help with women’s right differently. One talk about her and her friend Susan B. Anthony. The Other more talks about the actual Meeting.

The Convention was in upstate New York. It also lasted 3 Days. The people at the convention talk about the Declaration of Sentiment which was strongly based off the Declaration of Independence. They also had 12 resolutions to resolve which they did except The ninth. The ninth one was the one to vote some thought that just coming to the convention to vote was crazy but Anthony said that’s the first step to getting rights.

    Born in 1929, Edith Windsor became a widow following the death of her wife, Clara Spyer in 2009. Edith Windsor was entitled to receive the entire estate left behind by Spyer in her will. Windsor attempted to claim the federal estate tax exemption for surviving spouses, however, due to section 3 of DOMA, the state of Internal Revenue Service failed to recognize the same-sex marriage as legitimate and ordered Windsor to pay estate taxes of $363,053 in order to receive the estate even though the state of New York had recognized the marriage as of 2008.
