English 3 Edgar Allan Poe brings his character to life, his way of storytelling is gruesome, unimaginable, and reality. As a writer he accounts from his life experiences, having been stripped from his loved ones, unwanted by his only support system, crazed by alcoholism. His characters embodies him as a whole. Each story infused with crazy murders, and longing for loved ones. “Tell Tale Heart”, “The Raven”, and “The Cask of
Amontillado” are his most widely known tales. His life is questionable, his death unknown. The movies I have watched both help inform the audience on the type of man he was. Based on his work I have come to a conclusion that he is a very needy man. In most of his writings he is wanting something from someone or something. Even in real life he wanted respect, acknowledgement, and love of the people around him. “If you will only send me this one time $80, by Wednesday next, I will never forget your kindness & generosity. — if you refuse God only knows what I shall do, and all my hopes and prospects are ruined forever — Yours affectionately E A Poe”(Poe).
