The Myth of Freya
Freya was a beautiful giant who had golden hair and lived in Asgard, with her husband and young child. She loved her family very much but she also liked the finer things in life, she wanted the nicer things so badly that she went on a journey to pursue this passion showing that she had a greedy soul. While Freya was on her quest she did what she thought were necessary to achieve her goal ,"one of the dwarfs reached up and put his arms around her neck and kissed her with his ugly mouth"(47). When Freya returned from her journey her husband (Odur) had left Asgard because she had taken a golden necklace from the tree giants. His disappearance of Odur made her sad and ashamed of what she had done, but she did not lose hope.

    This Edgar Allan Poe’s short story indicates the narrator as the prime character in this story, who describes himself as a sane man, as he expresses in the first sentence, yet he shows a horrifying thing as a proof. Poe presents this story with its frightening atmosphere, full of contradiction and symbolism, so it causes us to be more accurate in interpreting every single part of the story. It tends to demand us, as the reader, to be more imaginative. Some of the plot is revealed by less conversation, rather revealed by some motion or setting; heart beat, darkness, shriek, chuckles, and many more. The main character here, an unnamed narrator, is the one who suffers kind of psychological nuisance or mental instability. The narrator is such a madman, proving his sanity by some mad ways, and innocently admitting that he has killed an old man-with his pale-blue eye as desire. Despite his agony against madness, his proclaimation really insists that he is a madman. This reminds us to a similar occurrence emerges in Poe’s The Black Cat, in which the unnamed narrator has mental instability and acts as murderous profile for he kills his cat, Pluto. But vary from The Tell-tale Heart, the narrator of The Black Cat is such an alcohol drunkard who pours his mental instability, the dangerous effect of it, by killing his cat and place him on the wall; whereas the narrator in this story is indeed suffering paranoia, without any element influences it, but doing the same deed, murdering something.…

    Edgar Allan Poe's work is known throughout the world. He was born in 1809 in Boston. When Poe was still an infant his father left him and then his mother died. Poe was adopted by Jon Allan. When analyzing the short stories, readers will find these Similarities by considering the story elements: charters, setting, plot, mood, Subject of matter, and point of view. The characters in Poe's stories share similarities. Often a character is Driven by their emotions. In the Tell Tale Heart the unidentified narrator Becomes so obsessed with his emotions regarding the old man's eye that he Was driven to murder. In the Cask of Amontillado Montessori is totally Controlled by his overpowering feeling that he and his family name had been Insulted. In the Pit and the Pendulum the unknown narrator is being driven By his emotions to survive and to get out of the pit. It seems Poe's characters Are driven by their emotions. Another similarity a reader will notice is that usually male characters left Unidentified for example in The Pit and the Pendulum the entire story is Narrated by a man who is certainly unnamed, but is also vague regarding his Person.
