Ed Boone Character Analysis
Ed Boone is the antagonist in the novel called the curious incident of the dog in the night-time. Does him being the antagonist make him the villain in this novel. Christopher John Francis Boone, Ed’s son started thinking he was the bad guy from the second half of the book because he found out that his father lied to him about his mother's death and from everything Christopher tells us about his father, he does seem like a bad guy. But then again are things always as they seem?

In the beginning of the novel after Christopher got arrested and is dad came to get him. Ed started yelling at the police, he was saying things like “I want to see my son” and “Why the hell is the locked up and “of course I’m bloody angry” (p.16). After he finished yelling. Christopher doesn't like being touched or hugged so but they have a way to show one another that they love each other, it's their fingers spread ritual, which is spreading their hands in a fan and then touching each other’s fingers, Christopher knows that it means I love you. That's the first thing Ed did when Christopher got out of the cell. Also Ed deserves sympathy because he is a single father taking care of a child with autism which is hard and running his own business. Most of the time he is really sweet to Christopher. But Christopher doesn’t acknowledge it whatsoever. Even his ex wife Judy praised him for being an amazing parent to Christopher and

He didn’t mean to hurt Christopher he was just trying to protect him, and to him if it meant lying to his son he took the chance cause one thing I learned about Ed Boone is that he would do anything for his son and everything that happened was because he was scared of losing Christopher and in the end he almost did. But he couldn't let that happen Ed was not going to let go years of getting to know and taking care of Christopher and has started restoring his relationship with his beloved

Krakauer wrote that Chris McCandless was, "green, and he overestimated his resilience, but was sufficiently skilled to last for sixteen weeks on a little more than his wits and ten pounds of rice"(Krakauer 182). In this quote it seems that Krakauer thought that McCandless was well equipped with his skills, so that made moderately prepared to survive in any situation. I feel that McCandless was rather prepared, yet again he never could have been fully prepared for the unexpected. My opinion is that McCandless was vaguely aware of the struggles that he would encounter in the Alaskan wilderness such as his epiphany that "happiness is only real when shared" was realized when his body was dying of starvation. I believed that he found what he was…

He was threatening Terri and her current husband Mel because he essentially stole the love of his life. Mel explained that Ed made them feel like fugitives and he felt the need to protect himself with gun. Ed definitely cared for Terri because he took such extreme action with showing that he did. However, when expressing love you are not suppose to express evil and that is what Ed was do. He was contradicting his feelings. If he loved Terri so much he would have treated her with more compassion and like an angle, rather than being so violent. Terri would not have left Ed if there was true love in the relationship. Although, I do believe that feelings change and if that was the case for Terri, Ed should have been happy for Terri. Ed was so cruel…”The man tried to kill me.” Murder and love do not go hand in hand for any reason at all. Such passion as love can make people go a little crazy and do things that are out of character but Ed did not seem to seem to be acting out of character because this was the way he showed her he loved her all along. He would beat her and say ‘I love…

Burr, Hamilton, and Jefferson, a character Analysis. Closely follows the lives of three of the United States greatest politicians as they struggle to create and maintain a new nation. In the appendix of the book the author, Roger Kennedy, explains how he shows sympathy for historical losers and often doubts some triumphs of winners in history books. So in this book, it's obvious Mr. Kennedy shows a bias to Aaron Burr, a lesser-known founder. One such example of this is throughout the book Roger belittles Hamilton and Jefferson to try and show how Burr was more honest and credible then the history books show him to be.…

“She’s super annoying.” “He is literally the dumbest person I know.” “She’s a fake.” The problem with most of these high-school judgments regarding other people is that they lack evidence, and rely on others’ preconceived notions, that may not be accurate. I admit, even I may judge a person solely based on what I hear from my friends or just because I do not like him, without any actual concrete proof of his actions. But not Holden. Even though Holden is judgmental and critical, often calling people phony or unintelligent, he “never lets anything stand by itself.” Holden doesn’t care if he’s criticizing his best friend or worst enemy, as long as he has the appropriate evidence to back it up. That is the key to his authority. Holden is able…

Children told stories about Ed's house like how he had human skulls hanging up in his room and how they thought they saw Ed in the graveyard on a few occasions. It is quite apparent by this paragraph that Christopher thinks very differently to a ‘normal person’. This is shown by the way he spoke in the book. For example, the sentences he used where very simple and straight forward, however did not leave a detail untouched. This is unlike to other books where generally the person thoughts and emotions are hidden, and are left to the reader’s imagination However, throughout this paragraph, Christopher very clearly stated how he felt as well as what he saw, although he did this very simply. An example of this is when he first discovered the body of the dog:…
